The vibe at Oak Grove Oasis
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
I really liked the host and the other campers I met here however "Oasis" is pushing it. This is a flattened out area in the woods. Yes some of the trees are oaks but there was no real view to speak of other than that. I could see the host's house up the hill and I wasn't even sure if I had found the right spot since it is just a cleared area and i was looking for the oasis. Where is it? I called to check and never heard back. Not my favorite spot.
We had a blast at Oak Grove Oasis. This was real camping and our dogs' first camping adventure. It was hot, very hot, when we visited, but the Yuba river was a short drive away. Also, check out the nearby State Parks for a wonderful step back in time.
The camp spot was perfectly level and we had access to a shower attached to the house. -- up the hill and way out of sight. If you would like to feel like civilization is far, far away, but have access to the sights of California's Gold Country, this is the place.
We hope to visit again, soon.
The campground came with a mosquito tent to stay protected during dusk! The property is nice to take a stroll around and check out the landscaping and nifty outdoor shower/tub and yurt. About a 40 minute drive to Edwards Crossing to cool off in Yuba River. My friends and I were expecting to bring a dog with us on this camping excursion but it did not pan out. The campground is the perfect size to bring a doggo along.
I really enjoyed my stay at Oak Grove Oasis during the Labor Day weekend. Tucked away in an Oak grove, we had ample space to make it our own. It was quiet and secluded and was everything we were looking for.
Great flat spot to pitch your tent and have access to Grass Valley and all of its swimming holes! I loved hanging out in the hammocks on the property, and my pups enjoyed walking around on the trails.
