This place was a dream! Connie and her family were so nice and welcoming! Connie showed us around the property and told us about local places we should check out. We stayed in the Casita, which has an amazing view of the Santa Cruz mountains. It was a nice and cozy little cottage with a couch and a table seating area downstairs and a comfy bed in the upstairs loft area. Perfect place to spend a relaxing evening in. It's in a secluded area of their property, so you feel like it's your own little piece of land. There is also an outdoor shower you can use and they provide robes for you in the cottage :)
I would highly recommend this place if you plan on going anywhere near Santa Cruz!
We had a wonderful time staying at the Mountainview Casita. The place was spotless, peaceful and indeed had a beautiful view from the porch. The bathroom in the main house was easily accessible, and very nice (nicer than the picture online). Connie was communicative ahead of time, and had made a great list of recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the area. We especially enjoyed swimming in the Garden of Eden and breakfast at Rocky’s. To sum it all up, we would greatly recommend staying here, and would love to come back.
We had a great time! The room was super cozy and the view was pretty unreal. The host was super friendly and the spot was really close to the Great Basin campsites where we were staying the next night. There's also an amazing natural grocery store in Felton very nearby where we loaded up on filtered water and organic foods.
We loved staying at the Casita! It was situated on a gorgeous, secluded 2-acre property yet still only a ~5min drive from the local town and ~20-25min from Santa Cruz. Was the perfect mix of seclusion in the mountains yet very close to other things as well! We'd absolutely stay here again and recommend others to check it out as well!
The casita was a great stay if you're visiting Santa Cruz or on the way down to Big Sur. It is a new construction, however, so Connie and her husband are still working out some minor kinks (the shower right beside the casita isn't functional yet so you need to walk down to the front of the property for a shower; would be great to have a sink/tap on the side of the house). But, overall, it was a lovely place nestled in the mountains. Also note that the casita wasn't as removed as I thought it would be since it's pretty close to the main house and you may be sharing the outdoor spaces with other guests who are staying in the VW bus parked on the property, but it depends on whether you feel up for mingling or doing your own thing!
