The vibe at Forest Tent Camping
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Great campground! The kids found a little freshwater creek that they enjoyed even more than the pools. But the pools were an awesome way to cool down as well. The tent camping area is a bit dusty, but otherwise we had a wonderful time.
Forest Test Camping was great! Pine Grove Cobb was a nice area, the bathrooms were clean and accessible. There was a nice little hiking trail by our campsite and a creek close by where our kids waded every day. When it got hot, we jumped in the pool. The neighbors at nearby campsites were very friendly and Joe as our host was great. Would definitely recommend it, and will be coming back! Great family campsite. :)
Joe was a great host - clear, easy instructions on how to find the campsite. It's a great location - close to wineries and Calistoga and also hiking trails at Mt St Helena. We had a lovely weekend escaping San Francisco!
Joe and the rest of the staff were super friendly. There are two pools (one spring-fed) on site, as well as a small food stand with some excellent grill food for sale, as well as smoothies and snacks. Bathrooms are clean and well-stocked with showers available. The site has one large communal fire pit. Many tent sites are dispersed among some permanent cabins, but there's a very private area towards the back of the property with tent pads. We'll definitely be coming back!
We loved staying here. Joe was more than accommodating and the staff were incredibly friendly. We stayed on the platforms and it was quiet, clean and private. We highly recommend this place to camp. The wood burning pizza was an unexpected bonus.
The platform site was beautiful with the sounds of the nearby creek putting us to sleep.
Lots of places to set up our hammock.
Our host, Joe, was extremely accommodating and easy to contact. (Thanks, Joe!)
We will definitely revisit!
Great facilities, great location, clean and cosy. We arrived and Joe said we could pitch our tent wherever we choose and pointed out a good spot right beside a BBQ & table. There is a cute bridge with fairy lights on the campsite and the outdoor kitchen is really cool - you can cook pizza in it. However there was some confusion with this as I asked Joe if we could use in prior to our arrival and he said you had to reserve it so we didn't bother as we we're sure what time we would arrive but once we did arrive it was lit and nobody was using it all evening. We would have brought pizza supplies but otherwise I can't pick any faults, it is a really cool place to camp in a forest setting but still feels safe and has good toilet/wash up facilities.
