Had a wonderful time at the Owls Nest. Great spot to get away from the city and experience a wonderful view and amazing night sky. If you feel so inclined there are miles of hiking trails and many very beautiful rock formations for bouldering or climbing. There is also an owls nest in the nearby park. Saya the host was very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend and plan on coming back again.
This was a beautiful, peaceful stay. The yurt is so clean, cozy, and it also felt like I was in a different part of the world. It's so cool that it's right next to a trail (I recommend hiking to the Devil's Chair). I used this space as a mini solo retreat. The desert sunset is so nice to gaze it. Also a great place for stargazing. Make sure to follow the directions the host provides (google maps brough me to a different gate). Would love to come again.
The campsite with the yurt has spectacular views of Devil’s Punchbowl rock formations and beyond next to many hiking trails. The yurt is comfortable and one can wash up and relax in style next to the fire pit. We drove a Sprinter Van and slept in our van. Do note that it is a single bed.
This was a really fun one-night getaway. Only one hour from LA but it feels like a world away. Saya and Jared are building a wonderful, remote compound with chickens, garden, an outdoor shower and something made of hay coated in mud! Really fun to enter into their creative alternative lifestyle for a bit. The outdoor toilet kind of sums up the vibe: the toilet seat has been built into a fancy reclaimed silk embroidered dining room chair with a fantastic view of mountains and valley. Outdoor living was never this witty and fun. The yurt is quite comfy but be warned, it's a narrow twin bed. My daughter was not so comfy on the concrete floor; bring an air mattress for the second person, maybe. The guys have thought of everything, but bring all of your cooking stuff. You're cooking over a kind of kettle with a grill on top. Gorgeous hikes all around, including Devil's Punchbowl. It's kind of brutally sunny in the eating area during the day, but you can take some chairs to a lovely shady spot under a nearby pine tree. We made some sweet memories here. Thanks, guys.
This little gem was a perfect getaway for the night. The yurt we stayed in was decorated so well. It was equipped with everything we needed for the stay. The property is walking distance to the Devils Punchbowl state park and the location is really In a secluded area surrounded by a beautiful mountain backdrop. Looking forward to coming back soon!
The yurt we stayed in was cute and upkeep. The hosts were very nice and inviting but they also gave us our privacy. From the open doors of the yurt we could see the Devil's Punch Bowl County Park. It was a treat to be so near a monumental geological landmark.
I would recommend OWLS'S NEST to everyone who wants to escape from the city! What a peaceful stay at the yurt! It was only 1 hour and 15 mins drive from downtown LA. The yurt was so cozy. I had the best sleep, too! Enjoyed the beautiful view of The Devil's Punchbowl all afternoon long which was such a treat. Can't wait to go back during the winter!
Nice getaway from the city. Comfortable and cozy inside. Devils Plunchbowl is a great place to visit
Could use more shade so you can sit outside in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee and breakfast.
Host was very friendly. I felt safe as it was just me and my dog.
