Magic mendocino magic!
Mendocino Magic was a wonderful campsite. We had the good fortune to have the lakeside pitch, which as the name suggests was right by the reservoir, which is beautiful. That meant that as soon as it got a bit hot, we could jump straight in, and the water was perfect. The pitch was a bit away from the track and the other pitches, so we had really quiet mornings, evenings and nights and slept super soundly. Mackenzie was a very warm and welcoming host and helped us with everything we needed. We will definitely be coming back!
Amazing get away
Mackenzie was a great host. The site was great and well maintained. She has lakes in her property which is amazing and you can go kayaking. Its a nice spot to get out on a romantic get away or hanging out with friends.
Beautiful and safe getaway
We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The property is beautiful, and our campsite was exactly what we wanted. Mackenzie has gone to great lengths to make sure our stay was safe and healthy - the nearest campsite to us was a 1/4 mile away, and there was hand sanitizer and washing stations conveniently located. I’d recommend Mendocino Magic to anyone looking to get away from it all.
Pricey for camping of course, but what you’re paying for is privacy in a beautiful location. Extremely chill lake vibe, with nearest campers quite a ways away. Host was super nice, and everything was really together. Simple camp spot, but has a bbq grill, picnic table, flat tent spot, view of the lake, and a place to get into the water nearby. An easy walk to a spotless portapoty well equipped with hand sanitizer and water to wash up. The host also provides a good amount of drinkable water at the camp site as well, so no lugging around needed. We will be back for sure!
Peace, quiet, and otters!
I find myself not wanting to write a review and keep this gem to myself. But I'll share. Lakeside camp is glorious. When we first arrived, we didn't get it and thought the site itself didn't seem like much, and there were people walking on the fire road which is essentially right in the site worrying us that we wouldn't have privacy. But there were actually very few people who were all quite friendly and respectful. And after we settled in and explored a bit, we realized we were in paradise. Mid-week we mostly had the entire lake to ourselves for swimming, boating, and relaxing. There's a little private shore spot right below the campsite which is amazing. And sometimes otters swim by! The land itself is huge and so beautiful. Great hiking and spots for star gazing. Port-a-potties were clean, a big jug of water was provided at the site, and it seems COVID precautions are being taken seriously. Absolutely can't wait to go back. Actually, I wish I hadn't left.
Swim, lounge, repeat.
Mendocino Magic, Mackenzie, and her team were nothing short of amazing. In the July afternoon heat, they had ice + water on hand for refills which was a massive help. The lakeside camp was perfect for easy access swims and the property was accommodating and gorgeous to walk around on. If you're looking for an excellent swim/camp spot, this is the place. Will definitely come back!
