super awesome space for the type of people that like my low key spiritual camping!
Very unique campground with a number of awesome things to do (pool, hiking, meditation, biking, and creek swimming). We will return.
This place is the BEST! Such an amazing, family friendly getaway in the time of COVID. We will be back for sure.
I did not want to write this review out if selfishness of keep this heaven on earth secret. Of absolute respect for the hosts and what they've build I must say this place is beyond anything we imagined. PARADISE!!! We will go back.
A true gem... lovely campground!
Don't be intimidated by the wellness element of "no cooking meat/eggs/fish"... or you'll miss out on one of the loveliest experiences you could have camping in nature, seeing stars more clearly than from anywhere else in the Bay Area, and generally just enjoying the tremendous quiet and peacefulness of a very very special place.
The staff couldn't be nicer or more genuinely helpful. James took exceptional care of us from the moment we arrived. He stopped what he was doing to immediately walk us around the core of the campsite and show us the basics, and then continued to be there when we had questions about where things were. It was the kind of "personal" hospitality and care you just don't find at organized campgrounds these days. The site also has SO MANY activities; we can't wait to come back in warmer weather. There was plenty of space, the grounds were really well maintained, and there are so many "extras" -- like a group campfire every night that the staff builds for the guests, paddle boats on the pond, high-quality playground equipment for the kiddos, mini golf...
Mandala Springs is truly an exceptional place. It's an investment to get there (curvy mountain roads from both directions, there's no way around it) -- so plan to stay at least 2-3 nights... and then you'll wish you had time to stay much much longer.

Quiet, nature based, with amenities
Clean, nature based, welcoming oasis. Kids paradise. We were there at a time when most people don't camp - the winter. So I am sure in summer there are more people and its a different experience. However, it was clear that the sites are well cared for, the little cabins looked spotless, and all systems - electric/water/septic hooked up, worked beautifully. It's a rare camping opportunity where there are full hook ups and room for a decent sized rig, but you are still clearly in a natural setting and the emphasis is on nature. Sweet little pond and stream, nice little walking trails, a raised bed vegetable garden. All contribute to the sense that you are camping naturally, not in a parking lot. Again, in summer, though sites are spacious, you would still be next to and aware of other campers in cabins, tents and R.V.'s. But it would still be a nice location and quiet background. If you have younger kids, go there, the paddle boats on the pond, mini pedal go carts, and general lay out would make a for a delightful family week-end, whether in an R.V., tent or rented cabin.
