We are an off-grid, solar-powered, 25 acre lakeside venue and permaculture-inspired lifestyle rich collaborative.

Heartland exists where the wilderness of off-grid life meets an artistic collective that sings possibility to the fringe dwellers of the Regenerative Eco-Village movement. Heartland offers people a break from the craziness of what so many call "life" and a view of what can be co-created with each other for each other. As in permaculture, the Heartland model is about doing more with less, it's about allowing our individual and diverse natural Flow states to merge forging new pathways of co-creation that are the true answer to our collective purpose.

Tent #3 is the most private tent at Heartland. It is under a massive 200+ year old Oak tree. It is on a small hill offering gorgeous views. You are a 2-3 minute walk from the lake entrance and your closest restrooms. The outdoor kitchen, showers and 2nd set of restrooms are about a 5-7 minute walk away.

*Fall Notice*

It's gorgeous here, but please know that our lake is a reservoir and it is low between Sep-November. Swimming is still possible but the walk to swimmable water is longer. During this time the bottom of the lake offers remarkable river hikes. With a 15 minute drive away there is also a really beautiful clear water swimming hole with a tire swing. Another very highly recommended day trip is the famous Yuba river, which is roughly an hour away.

We look forward to booking your stay at the Heartland Collective (:

Heartland was great! The lake was awesome and there was some gear to play with. The tent sites are super spacious and roomie. Shama and Anders were so friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely go back.

Nice stay, was hot but expected, the reservoir/lake provided needed cooling off. Shama is a sweetheart, great chats with her about ideas, mythology, and in general the Heartland Collective and their continued goals for bringing people together.

Beautiful vista - delightful lake for cooling off. Very hot this time of year. Lots of shade at the campsite and lots of room for distancing.

The spot was super nice and super private. My tent had a really nice view of the lake. One thing to be aware of is that the part of the road that is not paved is kinda bad so you have to make sure your care has decent suspension.

Super nice tents, would be great to have a little more table space to set up camp stove, food stuff, etc. Water was a bit muddy. Super hot midday this time of year, but the evening and morning were warm and there were no bugs at all!

What a special place. It was exactly what I was looking for for my solo adventure. Glamping at its finest. It is a trek to get to and it was incredibly hot. However, if you have ever been to Burner Man, you will be especially impressed. It is the like the theme camp you have always dreamed of having with the addition of a lake and none of the people.
