The place was beautiful. Nice lake, well kept property. We didn’t really have any interaction with the host other than a phone call to help with directions. If you’re pulling a trailer, make sure you understand how to get there.
October camping & map
Awesome campground! Had great weather for end of October camping. Absolutely loved the reservoir. We enjoyed paddle boarding and fishing it.
It was difficult to initially book a spot online because there isn’t a map. So I took a picture and attached it to this! Hope it helps someone else out.
The road to get there from Apple Hill was a bit scary. Very windy road and bridge. I wouldn’t recommend trailers or large vehicles take this road. Beautiful drive though. There is another way there around placerville.
I asked if there was electricity and was told yes. No host. Not what I was expecting. Took me one hour to get to campsite. I had no clue there was no water electricity or sewer. No one was there. I left, felt very vulnerable.
Beautiful and private!
I don’t want to write a good review bc I don’t want it booked when I want to go but this place was beautiful and private and close to our home and the camp hosts were super sweet. Very very dog friendly. Perfection. I will be back frequently.
Very nice spot! Camp hosts were friendly, came over and visited us for a few minutes. There was rain forecast so I think there were three sites in use, the rest were empty. Very peaceful weekend. We will be back.
We stayed two nights and it was great! The sites were large enough to feel semi-private and were right on the water to enjoy the beautiful lake view. The hosts were friendly and helpful. One thing - the bullfrogs were SO LOUD each night that sleeping was near impossible. We had earplugs the 2nd night and the kids slept in the car. I don’t know if that’s just a spring time thing - but definitely a damper on an overall great experience.
