Cute little lake, will return.
I will definitely return to this cute little lake. Perfect for me & my young kiddos to swim & paddleboard. The water temperature was great for swimming, although my kids got cold relatively quickly (2y &3y). My only issue was that for a private campground with relatively high prices they didn’t carve out flat areas for tent or picnic tables- the tent sites had a significant slope that was irritating to say the least. Also be warned that the road is in is not friendly to those who get car sick. I was driving & got nauseous. My 3y has never been car sick, vomited twice; we camp & go to the mountains frequently. I recommend gravol if you get car sick.
A real gem! franks diner is a must
Finnon Lake is just amazing! A real hidden gem that’s not so hidden. There is waterfront camping, a 27 hole disc golf course and the most amazing diner-Franks Diner. Franks just the greatest and this man can cook! I recommend everything on the menu! The disc golf course is pretty difficult and overgrown so losing discs is easy. Really challenging and fun with unique basket placements.
We were hosted by Jill & Kevin who are also musicians and just really kind people. If you go and they are still hosting you really need to stop by and chat.
Great spot that we can’t wait to go back too!
Private mountain lake for an extemely affordable price! The campsites are spread out with plenty of space and privacy. The lake is clean and clear. No smell at all. Take a swim with no need to shower. The caretakers are lovely folks. Very inviting! Just the drive in and out of there is worth the trip! One suggestion would be a shower area. Even temp ones for the season. However won't stop me from returning! In love with this place.
Awesome beautiful spot by the water. Wish it was a bit flatter, made tent camping a bit tough . So we put the tent on the flattish area the table was on, and the table was , well a bit tricky because your on a hill. Other than that it was a large spot with water access , great shade. We would totally stay at this campground again! The stars were beautiful, the bullfrogs like to battle at night and the geese had cute little babies .
Would camp again!
The grounds are awesome. This specific site was on a bit more of a slope than we expected. Made cooking and sleeping just a tad more challenging. But not too bad. Tons of goose poop too. So be prepared. But worth the view and the shade was great. Lovely grounds.
