Welcome to the brand new Eucalyptus Hideaway Glamp & Chill. We are located on the border of El Cajon and Lakeside in San Diego (about 20 miles east of Downtown) with easy access to the 8 freeway. We are just beginning to live our longtime dream of sharing our land and space with travelers, tourists, artists and friends. We have a 2.5 acre property and the Eucalyptus Hidewaway is down at the pool, separated from the main house. The pool is shared with our small family and a tenant at the poolside apartment, so you will definitely meet some new people while camping at our place.
We have been working to make this a special place for travelers to come and chill at the pool, relax in one of the seating areas or explore the eucalyptus forest and just have a great time while visiting San Diego. There are lots of birds, including hawks, and eucalyptus grove on our property that you are welcome to explore. We have organic herb and veggie gardens that we’d love to share with you. Our yurt tent has a queen size real bed and a twin size futon and is steps from the pool and very private.. The yurt tent is not a traditional yurt (another dream) but it’s still pretty cool to sleep and hang out in. It’s situated on an elevated platform under a gorgeous canopy of Chinese Elm trees. The trees have lot's of bird families, so that means your new alarm clock is a bird :) There is no electricity to the tent, but we do provide a battery operated light and there is motion solar lights around the bathroom and walkways. We will also supply extra blankets if needed. There is an outdoor bathroom steps away with a shower (cold water), sink with mirror and regular flush toilet. There is a gas BBQ to cook on (please bring items you normally would when camping such as paper plates, pool towels, etc. There is not a sink to wash dishes, so it is more of a camping environment) and a full size fridge to put your drinks and food in.
We are in the process of making our land unique and magical, which means we are always working on one thing or another around the property…it's truly a work in progress at our place here. Our vision is to transform the landscape into a complete sanctuary retreat, and it’s coming along quite nicely. We are excited to share it with our guests and will be available during your whole stay if you need anything at all. We are just a text away.
Nearby activities include Lake Jennings, which offers fishing and hiking, as well as several gorgeous parks to visit. Our glamp is great for a weekend destination or just for a rest on your way to another adventure. The pool is not fully fenced, so we only allow kids who can swim. Although we love pets (we have a few dogs on the property), we cannot accept guests with pets at this time. Parking is on the street, which is very safe and close to the pool area. Just text us when you get here and we'll make sure to show you around.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
If you're looking for a warm getaway close to San Diego, look no further. The property's pool is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun, and the tent and bed provided for sleeping are more than comfortable. The site also offers an amazing outdoor bathroom. The hosts are extremely welcoming, and will happily provide you with all of the best nearby restaurants and go-to spots. The property is a blast to explore, and has all sorts of interesting things to see. I would recommend arriving while it's still warm out to enjoy the pool, then having a calm evening on the pool deck and grilling dinner on the barbecue.
When we drove through the neighborhood to get to the camp area, we were a little deterred because it looks like you are in a cookie cutter neighborhood. Once we arrived, the hosts were so sweet and showed us the place. Everything was absolutely perfect and just as pictured. We spent the day at Lake Jennings and then arrived at camp in the afternoon to bbq and spend some time at the pool. The bed is super comfy too! Would definitely stay here again!
Wish I could have stayed longer. Heather's place is heavenly, and the tent and private, outdoor bathroom were gorgeous, really exceeded my expectations. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a quirky getaway at the edge of SD.
