I had a great 2-night stay at the Estero San Antonio Wonderland! Egret Nest site was right next to the estuary and was very peaceful and serene. There are about a half dozen sites on this property, and they are spaced out nicely so that every site has a decent amount of privacy. The property is clean and well maintained, with a nice little out-house for use as a facility. Guido and Emily were very friendly and thorough, and even brought me fresh eggs from the farm. They were bomb!
This is a perfect spot to unwind and reconnect with nature. Also a great place for birding if you're into that kind of thing.
I'll definitely be back!
Wonderful magical farm stay
My family and I had a beautiful two night stay at the egrets nest camp site. Such a special spot snuggled into the golden California rolling farmland hills. So peaceful. Only bird song a few cows and sheep could be heard. Super simple and all we wanted. Clean compost outhouse great fire pit with wood, fresh eggs and priceless precious mama nature backdrop. Would love to still be there.
Great experience with one hiccup
Super nice and communicative host although our interaction was completely through messaging in the app (which is actually my preference) They baked us an amazing focaccia bread and everything that we asked for was provided.
The only hiccup was that we talked about having a campfire and cooking over the fire. There was a nice fire pit for us to build one right on the shore of a small river. It was a bit difficult to work with because the ground on the riverbank was too uneven for sitting or use of a small table. When the sun began to go down, the riverbank flooded and the fire ring filled with water.
Aside from not being able to enjoy a campfire, everything was perfect.
Windy grassland campsite
This campsite was awesome and very close to Dillon Beach. It is definitely windy in the afternoon. A windbreak would have helped us to enjoy the view more. Outhouse is super clean. Communication was great. We enjoyed a drive down to Point Reyes station, canoed in a creek down there, and picked up oysters from Hog Island on our way back.
