ALL GUESTS AGREE TO ABIDE BY OUR COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY RULES BELOW. We also ask you to please shop for supplies in your own county and avoid stopping in our little community of Laytonville on your way to the Ranch.

Riverside Bluffs is located on the south side of festival site on a bluff overlooking Ten Mile Creek. Riverside Bluffs is dotted with oaks, pines, and bay trees.

The Black Oak Ranch has hosted music festivals on our beautifully 150 acre property for almost 30 years, including The Hog Farm Pignic, Earthdance, The Kate Wolf Music Festival, and the inaugural Hog Farm Hangout scheduled for next year. For the first time, we are opening up our festival site for private camping. Conveniently located just off of Highway 101 in Mendocino County, The Black Oak Ranch is home to majestic old oak trees, leafy bay groves, and Ten Mile Creek which is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. The Black Oak Ranch has an abundance of wildlife including deer, raptors, and our newest residents a family of beavers! Please note: our property is conveniently located just off of Highway 101 and you will hear noise from the highway.

Campsites are on flat terrain and can accommodate cars or RVs. All campsites have shade most or all of the day. The creek is a short walk away from each campsite. Please plan on making your site your own by bringing your own setups, gas-powered camp stoves, etc. We will provide a 6' table and some folding chairs to get you started. We suggest bringing a festive table cover. No wood or charcoal BBQs due to high fire danger. Gas fire bowls are allowed as long as they are not placed on grass (we can help you place them).  Each campsite has access to a private, clean Porta Pottie. We do not offer showers at this time. Ten Mile creek is great for wading and some parts of the creek depending on the year are swimmable. Our campsite hosts will be able to direct you to the current swimming holes on the creek. Fires are not permitted on the property at this time. Kids 12 and under are free. All kids must be counted in your stable family bubble. One one stable bubble per campsite. Per Mendocino County Health Ordinance, stable family bubbles must be from the same household, living unit, or Household Support Unit are limited to six total guests including children per campsite.

We are open and accepting reservations. However, please be advised we may need to cancel and refund reservations due to COVID-19.  Right now we are accepting reservations Thursday-Monday each week, but if you'd like to come on another day please message us and we will do our best to accommodate.

All guests are required to abide by the following COVID-19 Health & Safety Rules:

1.     Guest temperatures and an intake questionnaire will be taken upon arrival. If guests exhibit elevated temperatures or other COVID-19 symptoms at check-in or during their stay, they and the rest of their group will be asked to leave and quarantine for 14-days offsite.

I just got back from this amazing trip! In a time where we need to stay socially distanced, and not a lot of vacationing options, I was just wishing I could camp on someone’s beautiful land. And Alas place came up. It’s very private, And such a beautiful surroundings, including the amazing small river with private access to Wading waters. Saw the river wildlife, the healing plants, a turtle, many froglets, a beaver, and its dam. And the stars are out of this world! Blessed to be on this land for a couple nights. Would love to return!

This legendary land is truly beautiful and relaxing. We moved to Hog City Diner camp, and put up our camp under the trees for daylong shade. It was just a hop to the creek beach spot. So lovely. They provided potable water, a big table and chairs, and private potty. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. Sure the freeway noise is a presence but we got used to it pretty fast. The creek spots were quiet and fun for our 4 year old. The spots were located far apart- lots of space here unlike other campgrounds. We recommend it highly!

Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Each site had its own porta potty which was nice. Plenty of space between sites but not as many trees in between as I expected. Site was well kept and views were beautiful. Swimming hole was hard to find but worth it! We also enjoyed walking around the grounds where there are some wooden sculptures. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come back!

Riverside Bluffs was perfect for privacy and close to one of the best wading and swimming hole.
When the sun went down we have excellent view of the night sky for star and shooting stargazing.

The site was very well kept. I appreciated very clear communication and instructions from the host.
We were right next to the best swimming hole, and it was HOT, so it was great to dip in and out.
Windy in the afternoon, so stake your tent! Mine traveled about four feet, even with stuff in it!
Sites were large and had plenty of level spots. We appreciated the extra table and chairs, too.

It was so great to spend two nights at Black Oak ranch. There was lots of shade and space to spread out. A portopotty was available for just our use and was cleaned when we got there. Tables and chairs provided. We were right on the creek bed and had a full day at the creek. Covid protocols were in place and that made us feel safe. We also got the veggie/flower box which was amazing, delicious and very generous for the $30. I highly recommend to anyone friends or family groups to camp here!

Biasha’s spot was perfect! Plenty of space for everyone and even though there are other sites, you’re not close to anyone else so you have plenty of privacy. Bathrooms and water spigot near each site and right off 101 so very easy to get around. Would definitely recommend to other campers!

Nice, open site that was far enough from Site#1 but close enough for me to feel safe as a solo camper. Site was in shade the entire day and I was ok during the September heatwave that reached 100+ degrees.
Lots of birds to listen to and watch. Nighttime brought owls into the oaks above my tent and the coyotes howled at night. It’s a connection to nature to stay here.
