Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
If you are looking for man made and leveled campsites, then this is not your basecamp. This land is a gorgeous 20 acres that means a lot to us.  It's space to find your peace of mind and pitch a tent or hammock, as you would when hiking the backcountry.  Aside from complimentary ice water, potty, shower, soaps, sanitizer, sunscreen, first aid, communal fire pit, wood stove and dishwashing area) this is not "glamping".  If you are  a person who appreciates nature and making due with what the land has provided, then we are a great fit. Guests have 20 acres to find a secluded, or socially distanced spot to pitch camp. This is for people that know how to camp in the backcountry -  Without a trash can, who don’t leave cigarette butts, respect the land and would rather not be sectioned off. Flat areas are all over if you explore, and use your feet to brush aside rocks and twigs, to lay down a tent base, as we do every time we camp in the backcountry. The geography of these mountains is just that, hills and mountains. The vista at the top of the property is gorgeous and easily camps 5 tents spaced out. The property does offer many other great camping areas, and I’m more than happy to point them out. Yosemite is 30 minutes away, Don Pedro lake is 30 minutes, Cherry Lake is 30 minutes, Preston falls and Carlon falls are both 30 min away.  Downtown Groveland Is 7 minutes away, and other historic towns are not too far.  Close to many swimming holes. Rainbow pools is 15 minutes away. 10 min from the local grocery store and other local shops. Base Camp is just off of highway 120. Sonora has a great farmers market on Sunday and is a beautiful 40 min drive away. Thank you for taking time to read this, we look forward to hosting you!  -Best    Jarrett & BoIf you are looking for man made completely level campsites, then this is not your basecamp. This land is a gorgeous 20 acres that means a lot to us.  It's space to find your peace of mind and pitch a tent or hammock, as you would when hiking the backcountry.  There is a porta-potty, outdoor shower, communal fire pit, wood stove and dishwashing area.  If you are  a person who appreciates nature and making due with what the land has provided, then we are a great fit. Guests have the freedom to choose their ideal spot within property boundaries and with respect to other campers personal space (we trust you can work it out and share the land as intended) Camp worthy patches of land are plentiful. Campers can take the time to explore options and push aside rocks and twigs to lay down a tent base, as done when camping in the backcountry. The vista at the top of the property is most popular and camps multiple groups properly spaced out with a gorgeous view. We really enjoyed our time on the land! Perfect spot if you want to camp near Yosemite (~30 min drive to the entrance) but want some privacy and don’t want to deal with the Yosemite crowds. The land is also less than 5 minutes away from Groveland which has a great grocery store and some restaurants! Jarrett was super helpful, lending us a lighter and setting up a campfire for us one night.

We had a great time camping here! Beautiful piece of land with a stunning view of the mountains. There is a great outdoor shower and very clean porty potty. Both are located a bit from the campsite, but still very accessible. Jarrett was super accommodating and responsive if we had any questions. Highly recommend staying here!

Must Do Campsite
The campsite is awesome! Jarrett is so helpful and respectful of your space. I would recommend bringing some folding tables if you have a group-we did and we are so glad that we did. It took us 25 minutes to get to the yosemite Big Oak Flat entrance-awesome! The shower is incredible too-nice and warm! Would definitely come again!

Jarrett was an amazing host. He was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond to messages. The property is fantastic with some amazing views at the top of the hill. We opted for the steak dinner and I cannot recommend it enough! After a day of hiking and exploring Yosemite it was great to come back to a perfectly prepared meal. I would recommend staying here and plan to come back!

Nice sky views for stargazing.
Great location. Very secluded and private. Nice sky views for stargazing. And, not too far from Yosemite. Be prepared for driving down a gravel/dirt road, well maintained though. FYI, wash area and PortaPotty are a ways away. Within walking distance, but down a hill, plan accordingly. Overall, a good location and great experience.
