Off-grid living at its finest! Along Elliot creek- headwaters to the Rogue River- Only three miles from Applegate Lake, tucked into the hillside on a gated road, this place is a relaxing, rustic retreat ⛺️

With unique cabins, domes, treehouse, a bus, magical abodes and camping sites, we host a variety of travelers throughout the year. Our property is totally off-grid utilizing solar energy for lights, running water, wifi and power. Enjoy our hot, hot solar shower and Elliott creek baths, woodstoves for heat & cooking, and organic veggies in our spacious garden! We believe in a sustainable lifestyle and are looking forward to sharing our home with likeminded adventurers!

Oak Knoll Camping

This beautiful, flat, grassy knoll sits beneath a beautiful old- growth Oak tree. There is room for around 5-10 tents in this area. Feel free to set your tent up inside the geodesic dome frame !

Oak Knoll is on the front of the property and while you can't see the creek you can definitely hear it. It it slightly less private, being nearer to the road, but we are the last house on a gated road, so there's no one is around but very few neighbors, who are all off-grid, so it is still very secluded.

We have certified (AMAZING) artisan well water available in all the spigots around the property, and guests are welcome to forage in the organic garden and walk the trails throughout the property during their stay!

Campers will have a 1-2min. walk to get to the outhouse (simple, composting, sawdust type) , but the parking area and awesome solar shower are quite close to Oak Knoll. The hammock, meditation areas and creek side communal fire ring are down by the creek.

The Land

Our property is filled with moss, ferns, mushrooms, flowers, endless blackberries, an organic garden, and fantastic swimming and fishing spots in the crystal clear waters of Elliot Creek.

We are hidden on gated road, surrounded by National Forest land, and just 5 minutes from Applegate Lake. We are 45min from Medford, the closest town being 30min to Ruch, Oregon. Upon booking we send an easy to follow map with the padlock gatecode.

We live off-grid with solar electricity, outdoor solar shower, and a composting toilet available to hipcampers.

There is no cell phone reception anywhere on the property, but we do have reliable wifi and use email and facebook messenger to stay in contact while out here.

Our wifi is not suitable, though, for streaming or downloading.

We like to travel a lot- so sometimes you will be greeted by our land host, and other times left to stay on your own! But we will always be happy to give you a tour of the land and garden if we can! When we are here, we stay around the main house, and we also host occasional wwoofers and work/trade volunteers on the property.

We are always available to give guidance to surrounding hikes, best fishing spots, ect!

Beautiful Elliott Creek is the headwaters of the Rogue River and runs through the property. It is ideal for water playing, floating, and fishing. Applegate Lake is only minutes away, but we are in a private, safe, quiet little community of 6 houses beyond a gate, surrounded by forest.

The land also hosts unique cabins, geodesic domes, a treehouse, sauna/cabin, small orchard, and an organic garden- all thanks to Johan, who has loved and landscaped this property for over 10 years.

There are some amazing hikes from the property, including a couple National Forest trails that are in-accessable to the public due to the gate (which we will provide you with the 4 digit code to after booking!). Our roads also link up with the Pacific Crest Trail and Siskiyou Crest Trails near Bloomfield Pass.

Fires are only allowed in the large communal fire pit on the main property, but are strictly forbidden during peak fire danger season. Firewood is available for purchase upon request.

Pets are welcome if they are well-behaved and friendly with other animals.

Please let us know if you will be bringing any animals upon booking!

The garden space is strictly off limits to pets, besides Pumpkin- the resident cat on the property. We have lots of wildlife in the area so we don't recommend letting your dog loose unless you are sure they won't chase, and of course find a shovel or dispose of pet waste on the property !

The Garden is open for guests to forage from and enjoy, but PLEASE no animals in the garden! Depending on the time of year there are all sorts of yummy things, but please do not eat anything unless you are 100% sure of what it is!

There is also an incredible 60ft. high tree house on the property which is off-limits to guests, as are the creekside sauna and bus/cabins unless arranged in advance.

Happy Camping!

Woke up to a panorama of serenity. Celebrated the morning with a fragrant cup of sage/mint tea from the expansive garden, took a refreshing plunge into the brisk and glittering creek. Then off on my merry way with restored body, mind, and spirit, hoping to return soon!

I loved this place. Wish I had stayed longer. I slept right next to a creek, and very well. Hosts are amazing. Will definitely come again, and stay longer.
