We've been located here in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas for almost 40 years. Located on our 250 acres is a very unique spot in Arkansas. We call it "High Point" and it is the southernmost highest altitude point in the state. We have a 180+ degree view overlooking Benton to Malvern to Greater Hot Springs. The vibe at Erwin Estate High Point
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Our stay at Erwin Estates High Point was one of the most memorable stops on a road trip that took us to Texas Hill Country, the deep south of Louisiana and western Arkansas. Susan's parents, brother and niece met us upon arrival and guided us up to the high point. On the way you up you'll pass the ranch, a fishing pond, that your welcome to use, and the woods that are perfect for hiking.
At the High Point you'll stay at one of the best views of the Ouachita Mountains. In all directions the elder Erwin pointed out nearby mountains peaks and destinations like nearby Hot Springs. They suggested we setup camp right on the lookout tower. So, we did! We ate, chilled out and slept above the landscape hiking around the area much of our stay. It was amazing to wake up to a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains in the morning.
If you're heading up to Hot Springs and beyond, the Erwin Estate High Point is a great place to start a journey through Arkansas mountain country.
I can't say enough good things about this place! The view is amazing, the hiking was good, and fishing at the pond was so fun! When we arrived, the host met us and was incredible nice and helpful! It was a great time and we definitely want to come back!
We happened upon this site via HipCamp (our first ) while on the road. It was the perfect first time experience; possibly even fueling some future plans. The drive up to the point made you feel like you were getting lost alone somewhere for sure. Once there, it was exactly as described. 180 degrees. The hosts were most gracious, welcoming and quick to respond to our booking as well as any needs. We chose to just throw down pallets on our air mattresses under the open sky on the platform. There were no bugs - just a wonderful breeze (in August!) all night. We Deep South Southerners don’t have many options within simple distance for sleeping outside in the summer ...only a quick 3 hour drive away, it felt like a million miles away. 👌🏼 We arrived around 4pm-ish and left by 11am. I could see where mid day would be blazing in the bald sun. (just a consideration to be prepared for) You could absolutely still make a day in the surrounding shaded woods, take a good walk or drive back down and be in Hot Springs in about 15 mins.
This site was AMAZING! I cannot describe it properly. I was so excited to stay here and had high expectations, all were met. The spot is just breathtaking and the hosts were amazing. Since I did not have four wheel drive, they loaded up my stuff and took me to the spot. Making sure I had firewood and anything I would need for the night. They were very welcoming with tons of stories and very much wanted to make sure I felt safe. I wish I could have stayed longer! The pictures are exactly accurate!
