Bring your own bedding and an adventurous spirit, The Moontrimmer awaits you! Comfortable and spacious with ample seating, this trailer is hooked up and ready for a unique camping experience. If you are interested in staying at the Moontrimmer, please read ALL the following information to make sure this is the right experience for you!
THE SPACE: The Moontrimmer is set up on it's own private acre in a very safe and peaceful neighborhood 30 mins from the Grand Canyon. There's a spacious outside picnic area with fantastic views of the San Francisco peaks. A fire pit with a grill gate and poker sticks are provided for BBQs.
Enjoy a HUGE skylight over the double bed and a mini skylight over the single bed for some of the best stargazing in the country! Games and an acoustic guitar for entertainment, and enough solar power to charge your phone/anything that charges from a USB. You'll have your own private and colorful outhouse with a composting toilet and a solar camping shower.
SOLAR SHOWER: There is NO running water out here, so you'll have to bring your own to drink and to shower with. The solar shower can hold up to 5 gallons, but 1 or 2 should be enough for a good rinse off. Put the water in the shower bag and let the sun warm it up!
NO CLEANING FEE: This is a self-cleaning space, meaning you don't get charged a cleaning fee and will be expected to leave the camper in good shape, as you would like to find it! Cleaning products are provided. The desert is a dusty place, dirt can get tracked inside very easily. Please sweep the floor and wipe down surfaces before you check out.
We keep disinfectant & antibacterial sprays in the utility wardrobe, so you can feel free to disinfect the space on arrival, for a little peace of mind in these current times.
PET FRIENDLY: Of course your furry companions are welcome to join you! We don't charge any pet fees, we just ask you tidy up after them inside and out. Compostable doggy bags are provided and a lint brush for any pet hair that may get on furniture.
PACK IN PACK OUT: Any compostables you have can go in the large compost bin (signposted) about 50 feet behind the camper. We are totally off grid and have no means for garbage disposal out here, so you will need to take ALL trash and recyclables with you when you leave.
GUEST ACCESS: Guests have full private access to the trailer and the surrounding yard. The front yard is almost half an acre and its all yours to do your thing. Your privacy will always be respected and the property is laid out to ensure that.
WHAT TO BRING: Water for drinking and shower, Food, Fire wood, Toilet Paper, Trash Bags, 1 lb propane canisters for the heater (if staying in the winter).
CHECKING IN: This property is self check in. Just rock up and make yourself at home. Check in after 2PM. Check out before 11AM. (This is flexible, please get in touch if you'd like to request a different time). Arriving at night makes finding it more difficult as it gets very dark out here and lighting is minimal, utilize the instructions provided.
CHECKING OUT: Before checking out put used composting toilet bag in the compost bin. Take all trash and recyclables with you and leave the trailer clean for the next guest.
EXTREME WEATHER: A propane camping heater is provided October 15th - May 15th, when temps drop significantly. If you are staying during these months, be sure to bring 1 lb propane canisters for the heater (widely available but most affordable at Walmart. Approx $3 per canister, 1 will last up to 4 hours), plenty of warm clothes and extra bedding!
Monsoon season is approx mid July - mid Sept. If you are staying during this time, check the weather report frequently and try to arrive before a storm. If there has been any flooding and you're unsure about the roads, I can advise you on the best route to take to get to and from the property as I drive here every day.
I don't give refunds due to weather/cold temps or road conditions, so please check the weather reports and come prepared! All the information you need will be sent after booking!

My friends and I thought this was a really nice place. The camper was nicely done and the shower and toilet outbuildings appeared new and clean. Directions were easy to follow from the host. Tre seemed very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. Also, it is super quiet and the stars are breathtaking.

Cute little camper within perfect distance to the Grand Canyon. Clean, secluded, and the stars are to die for. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to camp near the canyon.
First and foremost, Tre is the most responsive and helpful host! We spent 3 nights in this charming camper with our dog, Luna. It’s so central to anything you could need. Sedona is about an hour or so away and there is the most perfect swimming hole where you can swim with your dog (huge because the closer lakes either don’t allow swimming or you can bring your dog) called Crescent Moon Resort. The camper location is also very close to Williams and is extremely close to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Honestly, it was the perfect location for our trip!

What a cool spot! We stayed here on the way into Grand Canyon and then again on the way out and was a perfect way to start and end our trip.
Amazing, amazing, amazing. I would highly recommend the Moontrimmer to anyone! Such a cozy, well crafted, lovely place. It was chilly during the evening and throughout the night, but the heater did wonders and kept us warm and comfortable! Two 1lb propane tanks got us through. The compost toilet is such a great idea. Not far from the Canyon, and so worth the price. You won’t be sorry staying here!

The Moontrimmer was such a unique find and Tre left plenty of info about the area and the camper to fee 100% comfortable. It was the perfect stop between the Grand Canyon and Sedona. The sunset and sunrise can’t be beat and we enjoyed some very large cows from afar while sipping our coffee in the morning. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
