This hideaway is an old refrigerated box from a produce truck that has been reborn into a camper with a king size bed and small sofa!  Located on my farm in South Mountain/Laveen and is nestled at the base of the mountain where hiking and biking trails are right up the road.  We have a shared outdoor bathroom with hot water via propane camping style heater. Electricity is available from an extension cord and an outlet inside the box.  The setting is quiet and peaceful and the nearby Groovy Terry trailer and two tent sites are available for booking also, so you may meet some new friends or bring your extended family with you and book them all.   Be sure to check the listing carefully for details so you will be prepared. We offer wifi, but only up close to the house, not at the campsite.  We are in the city, and there are still city sounds even though its a very rural setting. Maximum stays are limited to 7 nights.

Janna has set up a couple of awesome places to stay outside of Phoenix. Nestled into her expansive citrus orchards, and with beautiful views of the mountains, are two cozy hideaways. We stayed in her well furnished and comfortable retrofitted storage container, and right next door is a cool old trailer-turned-cabin. An outdoor bathroom and kitchen are provided, as well as a picnic table with a heat lamp, WiFi, and a generator for lights and power if needed. This is a wonderful place to relax and escape the desert heat and we really enjoyed our stay.

I recently stayed for a little "stay-cation" at the Hideaway Refrigerated Box and it was lovely. The accommodations were comfortable, and the AC made "glamping" even more better! We had an incredible time sipping wine by the fire and even had a little bunny join us for awhile. The owner was so patient with my questions and I felt very welcomed. Make sure to hit their little self serve farmstand, fresh eggs and veggies were an added bonus! Would totally stay again!

Pros:
Host is very responsive
Farm is quaint and quiet
Peach trees are beautiful
Easy to find
Concept is great - relatively new bathroom/shower setups
Decor in box is cool
2 quaker chewy bars and waters provided
Fresh towels, linen smelled fresh
A/C unit works very well for the small space (this is an old refrigerator box)

Cons:
Upkeep at site was lacking - Trees were overgrown/needed to be ducked under to get to the bathroom and around premises, the kitchen spigot sprays you with more water than goes into the bucket/sink, etc.
The box itself was not very clean (you do pay a cleaning fee) - glass panes on the door which provides the only light/view outside were quite dirty/smeared, the floor was obviously not cleaned recently, lots of rocks & dirt in the box.
Wifi is NOT available at the site. It is a ~3 minute walk to the host's back porch where it is apparently available.
Bathroom was quite dirty with urine covering about 1/3 of the toilet lid on arrival
BRING MOSQUITO SPRAY and a BUG NET - we did not stay the night due to the mosquitos. My partner counted 11 bites (she received over the course of about and hour at dusk) when we arrived back to our house to sleep. This was obviously our oversight.

All in all: I spoke to Janna about the above issues. She was very quick to respond as noted, and offered to reconcile the experience with a discounted future rate. Apparently we arrived on the heels of a dirty prior guest. The place has a lot of perks and I imagine with proper maintenance & cleaning, bug spray & a bug net, we would have had a great stay. We will give it another go once it cools off in the valley again.

Very roomy space. Happy to have AC. Since there’s no windows it was nice and dark inside for a good nights sleep.

I loved it. I could spend weeks there. It was far more comfortable and cuter than I expected and I was proud to show it off to some friends who were staying in a hotel nearby. Very quiet, feels remote but is very close to Phoenix. Loved waking up with the sun and the birds.

First time experiencing staying at a hipcamp location. I was blown away at how rad the location was! Everything was what I expected out of glamping! Highly reccomend this site to anyone who wants to be outdoors, but still keep that inner hotel vibe!

Loved the space. It was private and had beautiful sunset views. The A/C worked great and kept us cool plus the box had no windows so we could get a good nights sleep. Was the perfect mix of humble camping vibes and fancy

This site was fantastic. All of our friends at home were envious of our air-conditioned refrigerator box adventure. So much fun - beautiful property! Recommend arriving in daylight as it is much easier to find in the sun. :)

Pinnacle Farms South is a great place to stay! We went with our family and had the perfect weekend. The campsite is well appointed, with lots of thoughtful extras to make sure you have what you need to be comfortable. We especially enjoyed the campfire and cooking outside in the outdoor area. It is close to town if you need to make a run for things, but very private - you feel like your far outside of the city. Traffic is visible, but not noticeable. 360 Mountain View’s. Beautiful sunset. Janna was a very friendly and accommodating host. We will definitely return again! Highly recommend!
