Quiet and friendly. A bit far out here and the dirt road is bumpy, but we made it!
Lynn and Mark were very kind. The ranch has nice views of the surrounding mountains and is in a peaceful location. In addition to the Hipcamp sites, there are a few other RVs on-site that can be rented out or are used for ranch employees. Everyone was quiet and respectful. Follow Lynn’s directions! Maps suggested we take a different road that would have been a dead end. Mark met us where the road turns to dirt and becomes a single lane to guide us the rest of the way. Lynn suggested some great trailheads that were nearby for hiking and mountain biking.
What an amazing hidden gem! The sight was amazing surrounded by the sweetest people. We met many of the neighbors who either live there as ranch hands or as long time residents. Mark was gracious enough to give us a tour of the farm to include meeting the horses, the goats and the chickens. We had an excellent time and look forward to visiting again next time we are in Arizona.
We loved our stay here! Although the RV sites don't offer much privacy, the beautiful sunsets and mountain views more than made up for that. We loved taking morning/evening strolls through the ranch property with miniature horses, goats, chickens, and cows. Lovely hosts who gifted us with farm fresh eggs and made us feel welcome.
The listing suggests camping on a working farm, but it's really just a dirt parking area with hook-ups (and virtually no privacy) located near the host’s ranch. Hipcamp's photo policy says photos should represent where campers are staying, but listed photos of horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking appear to be pulled from the internet and do not represent what is actually offered around the site. The listing also says a picnic table, toilet and shower are available but host is simply referring to the hookups and none of these are actually offered. We felt like what was offered was not what as the listing advertised.
Lynne was a very responsive host. The location is in the beautiful area of Rio Verde. I'd happily be back to stay again. The only suggestion is if you have a larger RV, be sure to get directions from Lynne to avoid possible issues. Thanks for a great stay Lynne!
Our hosts were great! Greeted with fresh farm eggs and helped us because we are total rookies! Wish we took a tour of the farm.. but we are slackers😀
The site was fairly level and clear. Beautiful s7nrise iver the mountains in the morning. Lynn and her chicks provide farm fresh eggs for your breakfast.
