Adirondack Waterfall Oasis

With cobblestone mill ruins, a 200 year old cemetery at the property entrance and a large dam at the top of some of New York's most beautiful waterfalls, this is the former site of one of the Georgia Pacific's many logging mills dating back to the early 1800's and a part of Adirondack history.
Surrounded by bedrock, huge boulders, massive pine trees and miles and miles of trails, the Fowlerville Falls offer days of exploration and/or relaxation. There is a large swimming hole at the top of the falls, just off of the South-facing bedrock bank, where you can swim or lay in the sun. The falls, themselves, are almost 500 ft. across (at the widest point) and approximately 150 ft. in length (from top to bottom), ascending at approximately a 40-45 degree angle, making them navigable by foot. In the drier months (and, of course, depending on rain fall), most of the falls are dry, with only 50 - 100 ft. of water flow, making them navigable by foot. There are many little pools and flowing water across the bedrock to explore, along with the rest of the river, the surrounding woods and adjacent miles and miles of atv/hiking trails.
If you are kayaker, there river above the falls is calm and fairly shallow, ranging from .5 - several feet in depth. And if you are white water enthusiast, Fowlerville Falls (and the Moose River) is a nationally rated and renowned spot, boasting a class III-IV under normal release conditions, and a dangerous, cold class V under spring runoff conditions.

Keep in mind this is primitive camping. Trade the crowds at campgrounds for the quiet, secluded weekend you are dreaming of. No cell service, and very limited amenities. Beak and Skiff Apple Orchard is a 20 minute drive for after concert camping. Our close proximity to Syracuse and Ithaca is convenient for our guests. We lease some of our property to local farmers but otherwise the land is in a relatively natural state. We enjoy the blue birds and other wildlife, our gardens and the views, and hope you will too! Bramble Hill is also available for family and wedding related photo shoots and you'll see some of these photos that showcase the property. If you need help, we will gladly load up the tractor and escort you to the sites.Swimming at a state park/lake is a 5 mile drive, and there are other hiking trails within about a 20 minute drive. You can pitch a tent of your own, or borrow one of ours here by the house, or further out by the creek. Each campsite has a fire pit for your use.Restroom is available just inside the house if needed, and potable water is available via pump or hose outside the house or at the barn. We have a couple of dogs on sight, and we like to visit with folks - let us know if you want to socialize or not and we'll respect that. Your dogs are welcome, but please keep them leashed. Chickens like to run away, and dogs like to chase them. If you are traveling with horses, please contact us! We can provide turn out or possible stalls for you, if your shots are current (proof required). *fees apply depending on requirements.

You can have input about what part you want to camp in, but there is a turtle safety zone; and we know where the quick sand is, and would rather you didn't sink out of sight!
We have a hill top view or the serenity of a water fall site (as long as there isn't a drought) or the sweet smell of hemlock & pine! Shade & trees. Feel like you're in the Wild West with herds of horses, cows, goats ; wildlife visiting your campsite! We have a canoe w a small pond & bullhead fishing, wagon rides, pony rides, and eventually trails for horse back riding. Eventually we will install cabins with lean-tos to bring your own horse with you! If you have a dog? Ask if it is welcome, not all dogs are, due to safety issues with the livestock and birds. We can provide a barbeque pit, for cooking. Depending on the time of year there is fresh produce as well!
Why go thousands of miles to walk with the (almost!) mustangs !!!
