“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.”-J.R.R. Tolkien

You don’t have to go to New Zealand to stay in a hobbit house! Hand-built by our family, this cozy in-hill cabin located in the lower area of our property is something right out of a Tolkien novel. One room, circular door, comfortable futon couch/bed, a brick patio, chairs, a table, a private portable bathroom complete with hand-washing station, and an outside fire pit with s’mores sticks provided.  Cozy flannel sheets and a snuggly comforter and pillows provided.  Lovely of the tree line and sunset/sunrise, and located near Meigs Park as well as a 10-minute walk from Manitou beach and an easy bike ride to the ferry that goes to Seattle! The 128 square foot house itself is heated, insulated, and has working electricity. Located near a local highway, so expect a bit of noise - nothing we haven’t already tuned out haha. Beautiful territorial views, friendly hosts. Very LGBTQ+ friendly. Hope you enjoy!

This space is absolutely wonderful! It was everything we hoped for- very charming grounds and extra cozy inside. The fireplace is perfect! The hosts were very responsive, and we had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. We will definitely be coming back!

Rose & Mary were incredibly accomdating hosts- and the cookies were INCREDIBLE. I would plan on arriving in daylight for the easiest time parking, but this is well worth the stay! Have already reccomended to a lot of people. Will be here again.

Everything EVERYTHING about the Hobbit House was PERFECT! It was one of the most cozy and comfy accommodations I’ve ever been in. The cookies were amazing btw! I can’t wait to visit the island again!
