We had a great time at this beautiful place! The scenery is incredible, the eggs were delicious and Stephen was incredibly kind and considerate of our needs as his guests. We can't wait to come back!
Peaceful easy feeling!
Our second time there, every bit as great as the first time. Such a relaxing vibe, out in the country, some solitude, host Stephen dropping by occasionally to be sure we didn't need anything. We probably burned a half cord of firewood over the weekend, with Stephen's full encouragement; he brought us a second crate (these crates are about 4' square, and a couple of feet deep) before we were nearly out with the first one. Be sure to get some of the eggs he sells; they're outstanding!
Winter is coming on quickly, and the trailer will be winterized this weekend; but we'll be back in the spring!
Cute not quaint
They were very nice it was just not a farm farm they really just raise chickens and their house is on the hill above where you park your RV which is a difficult spot to get into
Amazing stay at the rusty acorn
Stephen and Ruth were great hosts, helpful, attentive, and very friendly and kind. The property is beautiful and peaceful with spectacular sunsets over the mountains. The RV site is well appointed and the picnic area they have created is incredibly inviting with comfortable seating, a picnic table and a dining set, a propane grill and fire ring. I can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was!
Nicest place to relax!
Steven and Ruth are amazing hosts, and great people. The campsite was clean, great hookups,. Gravel pad; we did have to put a couple of 3/4" plywood pieces under the left trailer wheels. There are chickens within sight, but they never came to the campsite. Fun to watch the rooster showing off his hens. :)
You will hear a couple of roosters calling; we didn't mind, but if that's a problem, it's best you know.
I recommend getting their firewood option. I worried it might be "here's enough for the weekend", and we'd run out; but they have us more than we could burn, and told us to let them know if we wanted more.
The sitting / fire ring area is large, clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. They had a tablecloth on the picnic table, and a container with hand cleaner and bug spray (we didn't see any mosquitos, but it was late September, so maybe that's why). We spent our whole visit just enjoying this relaxing, beautiful area.
There's nothing to do within 20-30 minutes; that was great for us, as we just wanted to kick back and rest. But this isn't Pigeon Forge, which we think is a plus.
Just a great place to relax!
Amazing spot all to yourself
Acorn Farm is the place to stay! We rolled in and everything was perfect! It was nice to have chairs and tables around the fire pit. We really enjoyed the dogs coming to visit us! Our night was perfect and we loved to be able to sleep with the back doors of our van opened. We heard the wonderful sounds of nature and slept so well! We will be back! Oh and the fresh eggs were so good!
Definitely check out this place!
This is a gem. 10/10 would recommend this little hideaway. Owner is the nicest guy in the world and provides farm fresh eggs and all the firewood you’d want. The site is secluded and he also provides a nice little hangout spot with fire pit, grill, seating, bug spray, citronella candles, hand sanitizer, and shade. There’s no cell service but our camper was within range of the wifi router and we were able to watch our late night netflix movies and college football. If you use wifi extenders then you’re set. The views are perfect. He has two super pretty and super friendly farm dogs, henry and jack. The spot was a back in but has everything super close including 50/30/20 amp, sewage, water, and trash. Owner provided a flow regulator and even came out to guide me in. Of the 4 RV parks I’ve been to, this one is the best, hands down. We will definitely be staying here again if we pass through the area. If you’re looking for a quiet, private, super relaxing getaway in the countryside, book this place.
Life on the farm is good!
We had a great time at Rusty Acorn Farm! Our kids and families joined us around the campfire for dinner on Saturday and we made some special memories including the announcement of another grandchild on the way! They put a lot of thought into the amenities around the site down to the bug spray and candles! We asked for firewood and had a large supply provided. We loved walking around the farm and visiting the chickens and roosters. Henry and Jack (the dogs) were friendly and well behaved. Be sure you get a dozen (or more!) fresh eggs! They were yummy! The only thing we would have wanted different is to have had some more shade at the campsite but there were three umbrellas around the campfire area that helped. We are looking forward to our next visit!
