Where can campers pitch a tent near Cold Spring?

Campers can pitch a tent at Fahnestock State Park, just 9 miles from Cold Spring. The sandy beach along Canopus Lake is a lovely spot for swimming, and rental kayaks are available. Additionally, further south in Harriman State Park, Beaver Pond Campground has camping along Lake Welch. The historic small town of Cold Spring is a great destination for camping.
