To get to Harry A. Merlo State Recreation Area, you can drive north about 7 miles on Hwy 101 from the town of Trinidad, then turn left at Big Lagoon Rd and follow the signs. The park is situated along the south and east shores of Big Lagoon in Humboldt County.
