China Peak Mountain Resort is a ski area located near Lakeshore in the Sierra National Forest, on the north shore of Huntington Lake. The resort is known for its significant snowfall, receiving an average of about 300 inches per year, and its skiing season usually runs from late November to early April, depending on snow conditions. The terrain at China Peak is diverse, offering something for all skill levels, including beginner-friendly slopes, terrain parks for freestyle enthusiasts, and challenging runs for advanced skiers. While there are no designated backcountry areas within the resort, there are plenty of trails for those looking to explore. The resort does not offer night skiing. The lift system includes chairlifts that provide access to a variety of runs. The views from the slopes are picturesque, with stunning vistas of the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. China Peak is considered family-friendly and offers ski and snowboard lessons for all ages. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, the resort offers other winter activities such as snowshoeing. There are no ice skating, snow tubing, snowmobiling, or sledding areas at the resort.
