Good if you want somewhere to stay that is safe and quite close by to Cody. Wasn’t a camp site was a large garden, park anywhere scenario. Host didn’t greet us but another camper did.

John’s property is beautiful and the dogs/horses are very friendly. You definitely have to be self contained, but I would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mind packing in their own water/facilities.

Upon arrival, due to my error, we had reserved a spot with higher voltage than we are equipped for. John switched out our site. The view was spectacular. The site is along a roadside that has very light traffic. Also, easy to find. One challenge we had, and it is an us problem, was leveling our rig. The site is mostly flat and graveled.
We were in RV2 for a week. There were 5 dogs here that barked and wagon-train circled around our RV when they got let out. 2 of them came running with teeth showing and snarling. My dog was on a leash and sitting when 2 of the dogs bit and pulled on my dog’s hind end. There was cow, horse, and dog feces plus thistles scattered around the property. Our big window view was barrels of empty Bud Light cans, a shed, and a boarded up garage. It had been raining so set-up was muddy and slippery. I left my muddy sandles outside and one of them was carried to the house yard by a dog. Side note, I am a professional driver with a 42’ fifth wheel and could only get in the (sometimes chained) gate by going passed the driveway, then backing it all the way around the house and garage into the spot. There were also several people out and about the property either living or working there. RV2 should not be a Hipcamp option due to the dogs. After the attack, John was apologetic and responsive to messages when dogs needed to go out.
To be honest, we didn't enjoy the site where we camped. John was really nice to accept a last minute request, but because of that, he had to move us to his RV site that was next to a road and driveway. He was watering his property and I imagine his other site would have been more suitable for for us as tent campers.
The view was really nice and the location was super convenient to town.
Again, he did accept our last minute reservation, so we appreciated that.
We enjoyed our stay at this ranch conveniently located outside Cody. The views were beautiful and we had a nice quiet, level site with electric hookup. John was very welcoming and helpful. We would stay here again.
We were greeted at the gate by the owner and directed to a gravel pad with a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. Electric was available at the pole. Friendly neighbors.
We do not recommend this campsite at all.
When we arrived the gate was closed, there was no one there, it was impossible to enter the camp. We had to book elsewhere...
