Welcome to WYLD La Plata, an off-grid retreat on the shores of Lago La Plata in Puerto Rico, set across 1.5 acres of private land shaped by the lake, the forest, and stillness. The property includes two distinct stays—Casita and Raíz—along with shared spaces designed for rest, lake access, and immersion in nature. The Casita sits above a calm inner bay of the lake with easy access, beautiful views, and a one-minute walk to the shoreline. Inside, it includes a full-size inflatable bed, sofa, mirror, interior lighting, marine toilet, a low-water shower, and an outdoor shower. Outside, guests will find a four-burner gas stove, charcoal barbecue grill, cooler, hammock, table and chairs, and fire pit. Air conditioning is available with a paid generator add-on. Raíz is secluded glamping stay tucked farther into the forest, about a one-minute walk from the lake. It includes a bell tent, full size bed, composting toilet, outdoor shower, and 3 burner gas stove offering a deeper connection to the trees, water, and quiet of the land. One of Raíz’s most distinctive features is its circular deck built around a tree, a signature space designed for sitting, gathering, and experiencing the forest in a way that feels both grounded and unforgettable. Guests also have access to Alba, a shared sunset area with seating and hammocks, and Entresueños, a circular bed tucked into the forest for resting, dreaming, and enjoying the surroundings. One of the most special features of WYLD La Plata is its connection to birdlife and the lake. The property is home to a white egret nesting area, and guests may witness hundreds of birds moving through the site and gathering near the water throughout the day. The lake is calm and ideal for swimming, relaxing by the shore, launching a kayak or stand-up paddleboard. At night, guests may also see cucubanos, the tiny glowing beetles that bring a special kind of magic to the forest. WYLD La Plata is off-grid by design. The quiet is part of the experience. There is no standard electricity, and water is limited, allowing guests to settle into a slower more intentional rhythm. We provide solar lights outdoors, lanterns and rechargeable lights.
