Rustic RV/Tent Dry Camping Near Lynchburg, TN Welcome to Petal & Pastures Farm, a developing homestead located near Lynchburg, Tennessee, just 11 minutes from the Jack Daniel’s Distillery and the historic Lynchburg square. We offer simple dry camping for RV travelers and primitive tent campers looking for an authentic rural Tennessee experience away from crowded campgrounds and RV parks. We want to be upfront about the property. This is not a polished campground or luxury retreat. We are just beginning our farm journey, and most of the property is still rough, rustic, and actively being worked on. The barns are old and weathered, and tools or materials may be visible in some areas as we continue improving the land over time. Our property includes: Chickens, roosters, and baby chicks Peacocks, peahens, and twice a year peachicks Goats A barn cat A livestock guardian dog that protects the goats during the day and stays secured near the house at night. Guests should expect natural farm sounds throughout the day and night. We are surrounded by cattle farmers. Cows moo at night, Roosters crow early, peacocks can be loud, and our guardian dog will bark at wildlife, activity around the property, or for no reason at all. Wildlife commonly seen here includes deer, wild turkey, snakes, barn owls, songbirds, and lots of lightning bugs during May and June. You will coyote in the distance but because of the guard dog they stay their distance. Ticks may also be present in taller grass and brush, as is common in rural Tennessee. RV dry camping includes: Designated parking area near one of our older barns Trash receptacles Fresh water access via garden hose Your choice of propane or charcoal grill Tent campers may choose from a few primitive camping areas depending on conditions and availability. Please note: No bathroom facilities No sewer hookups No electrical hookups Guests must be comfortable with primitive camping conditions. As a thank-you for staying with us, each guest may choose one complimentary bakery item during their stay, including fresh sourdough bread or a 6-count box of homemade cookies. Perfect for travelers visiting Lynchburg, touring Jack Daniel’s, or simply looking for a quiet rural stop with an authentic country atmosphere.

Old Barn Pasture Tent Site

Tent site · Sleeps 4
The "Old Barn Pasture Campsite" sits on the southwest corner of the farm, offering a wide open grassy campsite with direct views of daily life around the property. Tucked behind old Tennessee trees and the historic hay and milking barn, the site provides a peaceful balance between open countryside and the working character of the farm itself. From the campsite, guests can watch the rhythm of the farm unfold throughout the day while still enjoying plenty of space and privacy beneath the trees. The campsite overlooks broad pastureland bordered by rolling Tennessee hills and old farm structures that have stood for generations. Just north of the site will be the future home of the farm’s flower garden business, where seasonal blooms and fresh-cut flowers will eventually add even more color and charm to the surrounding landscape. During cattle season, cows often graze just beyond the fence directly south of the site, adding to the authentic farm atmosphere and giving campers a true countryside experience. After seasonal rains, a nearby runoff creek comes alive with flowing water, bringing soft creek sounds and extra greenery to the landscape. While the farm’s chickens rarely wander this far from the main barns, guests may occasionally receive a visit from one of the property’s resident groundhogs quietly roaming the edge of the fields near the campsite. Peacocks can sometimes be heard or spotted farther across the farm as well — usually right when you finally got comfortable and forgot peacocks make those noises. Each campsite also includes its own private portable toilet and privacy tent, because while we believe in authentic outdoor experiences, we also believe bathroom trips should not require a flashlight, hiking boots, and emotional preparation at 2 AM. Evenings at Campsite #2 are especially peaceful. As the sun drops behind the trees, the open fields begin to glow with fireflies during late spring and early summer, while frogs, crickets, and distant farm sounds settle over the pasture. Whether relaxing beside a campfire, enjoying the open sky, or simply watching the countryside slow down for the night, Campsite #2 offers a calm and authentic Tennessee farm camping experience with front-row views of the land, its history, and its future.

Secluded Creekside Tent Site

Tent site · Sleeps 8
The "Secluded Creekside Tent Site is a secluded dry camping retreat tucked into the southeast corner of the farm, offering guests a peaceful and private place to relax beneath the Tennessee trees. Set apart from most of the activity around the property, the spacious grassy campsite provides a quiet countryside atmosphere while still offering beautiful views of the antebellum side of the historic farmhouse in the distance. Just a short walk from the site, a gentle creek flows nearby, adding the calming sound of moving water to the natural setting. During the late spring months of May and June, the surrounding fields and tree lines come alive with unadulterated lightning bug displays, creating an unforgettable nighttime experience beneath the open sky. It’s the kind of peaceful evening that makes you forget your phone exists… until you try to take 47 blurry pictures of fireflies. Each campsite includes its own private portable toilet and privacy tent because while we encourage guests to reconnect with nature, we also understand that “wandering into the woods with toilet paper and a flashlight” is not everyone’s preferred outdoor adventure. For additional comfort and convenience, guests may also request a fire pit for evening campfires, a BBQ grill for campsite cooking, and optional solar-powered bistro lights that add a warm glow to the campsite after sunset without disturbing the peaceful rural atmosphere. Though this corner of the farm remains mostly quiet and secluded, guests may occasionally spot one or two of the farm’s free-roaming peacocks wandering nearby. Fair warning: peacocks are beautiful, majestic, and occasionally sound like a woman yelling in the distance for absolutely no reason. With open pasture, old trees, creekside tranquility, historic farm views, and quiet Tennessee nights filled with crickets and lightning bugs, Tent Site #1 offers a simple and authentic farm camping experience designed for slowing down, relaxing, and embracing the countryside — with just enough comfort to keep things civilized.
