Primitive wooded, sloping .5 acre lot at the top of of Center Hill Lake. Drive down the winding foot hills on the paved rd or the 4 wheel drive recommended dirt rd to a public but secluded boat ramp and swimming area. Both roads are less than 1 mile from property. The boat/swimming area is located directly across from Davies Island. A great kayaking trip is about a 5 1/2 mile paddle around Davies Island. About half way around the island is really nice beaches to stop for lunch. Hikers would enjoy the trail walking at the water’s edge along the peninsula(water level permitting). Great places for fishing too.Pitch your tent or hang a hammock on a private very wooded sloping 1/2 acre lot. Hammock camping is highly recommended but there are a few spots level enough for tent camping as well and the parking area can accommodate RVs or campers. The lot is largely undisturbed with vegetation such as trillium, ferns, wild rose and mushrooms growing on it. No light pollution, so the stars are quite bright on clear nights. The lot is marked by a lime green bands painted on the trees making up the boundary and ending at the lime green painted concrete markers. It is just over a 1/2 mile drive down the winding paved rd or dirt rd(4x4 recommended) to 2 separate public, but not well known boat ramps. Boat ramps are located directly across from Davies Island. Experienced kayakers can enjoy a 5.5 mile paddle around Davies island with great beaches at the halfway point to stop on the island for lunch and a stretch. Nice coves for fishing and cooling off, and in the fall you get a two for one with the brilliant fall colors reflected off the lake! Nice trail by the water around a peninsula for an easy leisurely hike. Boat ramp area also has a nice rocky beach swimming area. Close to marina and lake supply store. 20 minutes to Walmart in Smithville. 2 miles to convenience store/restaurant/ kayak rental.

Level a few spots for tents and maybe the parking area trimmed up and leveled. Raw was a good definition.

Awesome site close to the road, but still very private. Only a few cars passed us in the night and it felt safe. Very close to water access just a few short minutes down the road.

The campsite is exactly as the name suggests, raw. Close to some good fishing and hiking locations. Dont expect anything fancy. Bring bugspray because theres a lot of insects out there. Also be careful while parking

Loved this site! The fire ring and surrounding area is on a bit of a slant but there are good trees for hammocking. Pretty secluded and quiet. 5 minute drive to Center Hill swimming area.

Raw Campsite at Center Hill Lake

This was a nice little spot in the woods, very easy to get to, and tons of firewood around. Definitely a hammock spot but we used a camper van and managed to get it fairly level. It would be perfect if we had leveling blocks. Even got to see a possum and some chipmunks.

Raw Campsite at Center Hill Lake

Overall a great trip to this spot. Site was a short hile to the lake, and a mile or two from some convenience spots in case you missed something when packing. I think the campsite could really go for some leveling as the entire site was on an incline and left us either sliding down in tents or having to level ourselves out somehow. Easy access to water, and the road next to the site isn't too terribly busy. We had a nice time!
