Camping at H.E.R living campus was an enjoyable experience. The camp site is tucked away, and Letava and Tinkerbell make excellent hosts. I would definitely recommend!

This is our third time visiting H.E.R. and, as always, we truly appreciated having a familiar and comfortable space to camp out and recharge. Always a good vibe and the site provides the privacy and serenity we desire in a camping destination as well as a convenient location for getting around the city.

We have camped here 3 years in a row and it is great. Letava has a whole homestead set up, adding things each year. She is really kind and goes out of her way to help us out if we have any issues.

Highly recommend tent camping here. Letava is a wonderful host, gracious, responsive and accommodating. I was actually attending a 3-day event at the downtown conference center. Loved returning from daily sessions & workshops to the peace and beauty of Letava’s back acres. She has created a lovely camping oasis. During my stay, I was the only occupant but the area is designed for multiple campers. It was fun to spread out with tarp-covered 2-person tent, my camp kitchen, and hammock to chill in while reading.
I appreciated the handwashing station adjoining the port-o-johns, all well supplied and close to the camping area.
Do be mindful that your car won’t pull up right next to the camping glade. There’s a short path to reach it. Took multiple trips to cart my potable water and the rest of my camping equipment. All well worth it, though—made for a prettier and more relaxing camping area. I would stay here again.

We had a great time here for the eclipse! Letava and her family were so welcoming and there was plenty of space to spread out, which we appreciated since we were camping with a baby. We loved the grounds and the chickens and ducks, and proximity to things to do in Indianapolis was great as well. Thanks for everything.

8 acres means tons of space to spread out! Mature trees, rural setting next to the big city. Letava was very accommodating and the place has a peaceful vibe. We even got to meet the baby ducks, which was super special as my daughter’s nickname is duck. Would recommend!

We're so happy we chose to watch the eclipse at H.E.R. Living Campus! When we heard about the 2024 eclipse, we just knew we had to venture several hours to be in the total eclipse path. But we weren't sure where to go. As long-time campers, we've come to prefer staying at places that have a more personal atmosphere rather than state campgrounds or RV parks. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family by our host Letava and made to feel at home. She showed us around and we chatted for a while before settling in. We especially enjoy visiting homesteads. From the large vegetable garden to the playground (full of both campers and the host's family members) to the hens and ducks roaming freely throughout the property, there is a loving, nurturing vibe to the space. It's easy to see the care that is being put into maintaining and developing this land as a community space. We look forward to returning!

Letava is an amazing person and the area was perfect for watching the eclipse! We had some car troubles and brought the wrong tent and couldn't use it. Letava called us a mechanic and had extra tents to rent! She has cultivated a great community of campers and I couldn't recommend her site enough!

Letava was a friendly, warm host! We were interested to hear about the programs and events they host teaching local youth about camping and gardening. The property was large and well-kept with an indoor restroom, solar shower-station, and fire pit. We stayed here after the Indy 500 and was only about 30-35 mins from the moterway. Definitely consider this spot if you’re traveling through, or would like to learn more about camping!

Letava provides a refreshing place to rest after a long day of traveling, complete with chickens, ducks, and a precious cat. Overall we had a good experience. The host is terrific and the port a john bathrooms were clean. The only drawback to the camping sites is that they are a pretty good hike (like 50-75 yards) from the parking area. If you have traditional car camp gear (coolers, etc) you might wanna bring a portable cart. The only other comment is that I-65 is closeby, so you'll hear that all night. It didn't bother us too much but just a note for light/fussy sleepers!

The space is much larger than expected and I liked that parts were left to grow tall. I didn't have much time to look around but I do plan on going back. Communication was a bit off but now I know what to expect so that won't be a problem in the future. I like the concept that they are working towards.

I loved how easy it was to book my stay at Tubman Cabin, the host was very accommodating. I will say I had some reservations as it pertains to the “real camp” experience and not having access to a indoor restroom; however the solar shower and commode on the grounds provided a great balance for the experience. I’m looking forward to booking another stay soon!

Peaceful weekend at Tubman Cabin!

We had a great time at Tubman Cabin! Our host was very kind and made sure that we were properly situated for our stay. Our accommodations were comfortable but minimalist, which was fine for us because we set up a tent. There was a kids play area that my son had a great time negotiating, and an open field we were able to play some baseball in.
Overall, a great, peaceful, father and son weekend getaway. Just remember, it’s a camping, not “glamping”, so you’ll have to prepare for a lack of electricity ( phone charger, essentials, etc.). If push comes to shove, there is a Walgreens that’s about a 10 minute drive from the site.
