While our space welcomes the modest charm of tents, small RVs, and campers, we maintain a rustic essence without power hook-ups, encouraging guests to connect with nature. Each campsite is thoughtfully equipped with a personal fire ring and table for your convenience. Our area offers an incredible variety of recreational and sightseeing activities. Find peace and tranquility among nature or travel just 25 miles north to visit the heart of Chicago! We are central to many Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State Parks and beaches. Several good restaurants and breweries are also nearby. PLEASE NOTE: Please drive slowly and cautiously through our property. We are an active farm with a lot of activity all year round. Please pitch your tent in the designated campground area. In support of conservation of the natural ecosystem, please refrain from broadcast pesticides, i.e. Raid, Yard Guard, etc. Spraying skin, clothing, and personal property with mosquito repellent in your designated camping is fine. Our farm has beehives placed at a safe distance from the campsites to ensure guest safety. Obey posted signs and please stay out of designated work areas OBSERVE FIRE SAFETY. Leave fire ring in designated spot. Never leave fire unattended. No fires on windy days. Extinguish fire before leaving campsite. Honey: We offer honey harvested from blueberry blossoms in spring and the rich flavors of black locust and clover in late summer. Blueberries: Come July, partake in our U-pick blueberry farm, an experience seamlessly woven into your stay. Misc. We also offer a variety of organic garden vegetables and herbs throughout the growing season. Kindly inquire on availability upon arrival if you are interested in any of these farm fresh goodies. Escape to Willowthorne, a serene 9-acre organic blueberry farm just 25 miles south of Chicago. Our peaceful retreat offers tent and small camper camping beside a tranquil pond and under graceful willow trees. Enjoy stunning sunsets, stargazing, and a welcoming farm vibe rooted in sustainability and simple living. Each campsite includes a fire ring and table. While rustic (no hookups), you’ll have access to beautiful views, fresh air, and a deep connection to nature. Good to Know: Enter through the west driveway (by the chicken coop). Our horseshoe drive makes for easy in-and-out access. Drive carefully—this is an active farm with lots of seasonal activity. One vehicle per campsite. RVs/vehicles may need to park in the driveway if the field is muddy. Respect work areas and signs (including beehive zones). Avoid broadcast pesticides; personal bug spray is fine. Extras & Offerings: Firewood: Local bundles available ($8, Venmo or cash). No outside wood, please. Blueberries: U-pick during summer harvest. Fishing: Catch-and-release welcome. Kindling: You’re welcome to collect fallen twigs (leave stacked wood for farm use). Close to trails, parks, and beaches in IL, IN, and MI—plus just a short drive to Chicago for city fun. This site caters to small RVs, Campers or vans, and offers a safe spot for visitors to park for one overnight stay on a gravel driveway. At times we can allow small tents in the grassy field alongside the pond, weather and farm activity permitting. Guests have access to potable water and a porto-john. There is a picnic table available, where you could enjoy the view of the pond, or stroll the farm and soak in picturesque views of a tranquil pond and willow trees. We maintain a rustic essence without power hook-ups, encouraging guests to connect with nature. No generators allowed at this time. Guests will need to be self contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. Our area offers an incredible variety of recreational and sightseeing activities. Find peace and tranquility among nature or travel just 25 miles north to visit the heart of Chicago! We are central to many Illinois, Indiana and Michigan State Parks and beaches. I had planned on only staying the first night, but it was so peaceful and the host so accommodating that I decided to stay another night. Mike was kind enough to spend some time with me telling me about the land in the history surrounding it, as well as a brief tour of the various gardens and small store where they have fresh honey, jams, etc. lovely place and will love to stay here in the spring to see everything growing!

Perfect little getaway from Chicago. The description and pictures are accurate. The hosts were extremely communicative and very friendly. Got to chat with both of them a little bit. Will definitely stay here again!

Two nicely laid out large shaded campsites facing a pond. Cute working farm between a field and what felt like busy suburban life driving in. Camp area was pretty quiet but I could hear traffic noises. Tables, grill, toilet and running water for hand washing. They offer organic jams and sauces made there on the farm. A nice little addition that make Hipcamp sites unique.

It was so nice to wake up and look over the pond sitting by the willow trees. Gosia and Mike are very warm and welcoming. Definitely would recommend!

Beautiful setting, woodsy and private. Great to have a port o potty and wash sink next to the site. The only negative is that this is still a "close to urban" site and you'll hear loud car and motorcycle mufflers occasionally and there is some live music venue across the farm fields, and you'll hear the music playing and announcing until like 1130pm Fridays and Saturdays. Otherwise, the hosts are super friendly.

This campsite was conveniently located. The blueberry farm and honey bees were neat to view. Our host was kind, clear with directions, and met us upon arrival! The portable bathroom had a light inside, which was helpful in the night. The outdoor sink was super helpful. We purchased a bundle of firewood ahead of time, and the amount provided was a little less than expected, so you may need to purchase more. The fire pit and seating area was helpful for a late night campfire dinner. Overall, it was a good experience and we appreciated our stay!

Overall we had a good experience. As a first time tent camper, I appreciated that the hosts were kind, helpful, and accommodating. My son was thrilled that he caught a fish on the last day we were there. He also loves the honey. I think because we stayed on a major holiday weekend (Labor Day), we experienced quite a bit of off-site noise. Nothing very late into the night but there were events/parties elsewhere in the community and I believe a sports game happening nearby (some kind of small stadium, we saw the lights and heard cheering). It was still a good choice for us because it was close to home and there were plenty of amenities within a 20 minute drive or by delivery (Doordash, etc.).

We enjoyed our stay at Gosia and Mike’s property. The directions were clear and it was easy to find. A very convenient place to stay close to the interstate for cross-country travel. It was surprisingly private given the proximity to more heavily developed areas.

The camping spots were a nice distance from each other. Our location was furnished with a table and chairs as well as a fire ring and grill. Overall the area was very open so that you could see a lot of sky, but also surrounded by enough wooded area to keep the site serene secluded space. Everything is well maintained. There are also some wonderful products they have made available to purchase, such as jams and sauces. Overall the most important aspect is the hosts are so kind and accommodating that you will be glad you chose this as your campsite.

Gosia and Mike have a beautiful farm - I loved pulling right up to the pond to car camp, and in the morning I got to pick blueberries, see their bee hives, enjoy the garden and chickens. Gracious hosts and would recommend staying here.

This is such an amazing place. What Gosia and Mike are doing here is truly inspiring. They are creating this environment of sustainability and opening up nature camping to people in a region where it's not as common. The protection of the local environment and encouraging people to interact with nature is a wonderful asset in the community. If you can't or if you don't want to drive an hour just to go camping this is the place to be. Because of its close proximity, I have even used it to encourage people in their 50s and 60s, who have never been camping, to give it a try under the guise that if they do not like it, they can be home in 15 minutes. So far they have all wanted to stay a second day, well... with the exception of my mom, but if it's not a 4 star hotel, nothing really makes her happy.

Piccolo paradiso di tranquillità, appena fuori dal caos della città. Ci siamo fermati con il camper solo per una notte, ma abbiamo potuto comunque godere della pace, dei buonissimi mirtilli che abbiamo potuto raccogliere e soprattutto dell'ospitalità e gentilezza di Gosia. Il posto corrisponde a quanto scritto nelle info del sito. Raccomandato!!

We had a great time at Willowthorne and would love to visit again! There were some walking trails on the property, u-pick blueberries over the weekend, and an idyllic pond that we watched fish, birds, and turtles while having our morning coffee. Don't sleep on the honey if it's available! 10/10 would visit again.

It was a beautiful space and I had an amazing time! Gosia was so nice and welcoming. There's some nature spaces you can walk in, short but ethereal trials. The pond is gorgeous. It felt private. Thank you!

Fantastic! A beautiful place with wonderful hosts. Willowthorne is a little jewel, an oasis, in a suburban setting. We felt traffic and time drop away once we pulled in and got parked. Very cozy and charming- and a fabulous dog (Gaia) lives there too! We got rhubarb, jelly and eggs.

The campsites are a hidden gem in the city! Property is nicely taken care of and Gosia was very kind. Great spot to camp and hop on a train into downtown. Fishing right by the sites was a plus for the kids. Fireflies abound as you fall asleep!
