Rhinda's place was such a great place for us to stop for the night. The kids had such a great time visiting with all the animals! We will definitely stay again on our next time through the area!

We had a great camping at Rhinda's farm. Rhinda was a wonderful host. Campsite was clean, maintained and equipped very well. Animals were happy and friendly.
The farm is located just 10 minutes from an exit on I-55, close to the town Litchfield. It's in the middle of the field and secluded. Campsite was very clean, maintained well and equipped with all necessary stuff. There are three swing benches, picnic table and bench, fire pit, toilet (porta potti), hot shower, sink where you can wash dishes, electrical hookup ($10), trash bin, and WiFi. There are enough shades. We had a great view of sunshine and sunrise. In the night, we saw stars pretty well. There is a railroad right in front of the farm. The train no longer runs. It was fun taking a walk along the railroad, and was a good spot for taking photos.
Rhinda was open and friendly. She was helpful and provided all necessary stuff to make sure we had a comfortable and pleasant camping on her farm. She is passionate about animals.
The highlight of our camping was the animals on the farm. Rhinda has many different kinds of animals on the farm. They were all happy and friendly. They were not afraid of us. We interacted with them well. We had never seen such friendly animals. Rhinda took her time and showed us around. She studies a lot about animals and shared with us what she learned and knows not only from textbooks but also from her real experiences.

We loved visiting the farm. We are a city family with 3 younger kiddos who had a blast seeing all the animals and getting to learn about them! Ms. Rhinda was so patient and kind with our kids and always allowed them to interact when she was outside working with the animals. It is definitely a unique experience!

We enjoyed our stay with Rhinda. She was easy to communicate with and responsive. She took time to introduce us to the animals and share some of their stories.
The campsite was close to an outdoor sink and camp toilet, which my family appreciated, and there was plenty of seating and firewood for us at the fire pit.
Peacocks in mating season are loud, and we heard the first rooster crowing at 3am, but that's the reality of staying at a farm :)
Rhinda was an attentive and friendly host. We had a great stay!

This host knows her animals! Not only did we have a lovely weekend of camping on a private space, but we received a farm tour with great information about the many varieties of animals she rescues, raises and houses. We had 6 people- 2 adults, 4 kids and 2 dogs. Everyone had a great time. The kids loved being around the animals, especially the cats, pigs, goats, bunnies, donkeys and ponies. Everyone had their favorite. We took apples and carrots for feeding, which I'd recommend for more fun. The roosters rise early, so prepare yourself. Those familiar with camping are used to many types of potties, this one can be a little messier than others, but the host has made the space super charming. The outdoor shower was dreamy and so enjoyable in the late summer weather. Great fire pit with wood to purchase. The stars are worth taking some time to enjoy. The roads at the property are great for walks and there is an abandoned railroad track the kids enjoyed exploring. They also enjoyed the corn fields for some hide and seek. Having a sink for handwashing, dishwashing, teeth brushing, etc.. was great. Many amenities here at this wonderful camp. The animals are the star attraction. We'll be back. Wonderful host. She gave us far more of her time than we anticipated- showing us around, ensuring all was well. You'll be in good hands.

Rhinda’s camp site is a fun and easy place to stay. The outdoor shower is lovely. The cats were so friendly that it was a little hard to do anything at the picnic table and the roosters and ducks were an early morning wake up call, but if you enjoy animals this is a great spot.

We came to spend a night camping for my grandmother’s 91st birthday and this place did not disappoint. Rhinda’s camp has everything you need to enjoy a campfire with swings surrounding it, trees to shade the campsite, water, shower and portapotty. She gave us an amazing tour of her farm animals and the kids and grandma really enjoyed it. Close enough to St. Louis, we will definitely be back.

This camp was a bit further than I wanted to travel on that day, but we love animals and it sounded like much more of an experience than other choices in the region. We pulled in after dark but Rhinda helped me position my Class B RV into a great spot under large trees far enough from her house for privacy yet close enough to be serenaded by a host of animal sounds. We had a great night's sleep and a lazy morning start. Rhinda gave us a ~30 minute tour of her farm with a dizzying variety of birds, geese, goats, peacocks, chickens, cats, rabbits, miniature horses, pigs, Great Pyrenees (three!) and more. Alas, no alpaca, but we enjoyed it regardless.

Rhinda was such a welcoming and accommodating host. Her land is in a very peaceful area, and she has worked hard to create a nice spot for Hipcampers. We were in our travel trailer and able to park and set up electric quickly. The kids enjoyed petting all of Rhonda’s animals, and she was so sweet to share her knowledge and time showing them the ropes. She even let them “help” her with some farm work, and they loved that! She clearly has a heart for the critters and works very hard taking care of them. We also enjoyed seeing the stars at night and swinging in the morning breeze under the shade of the trees. Thanks Rhinda!

I stayed here over 4th of July weekend by myself and enjoyed every minute! Rhinda was very accommodating and welcoming. The animals made my stay awesome (I almost took a cat home with me). I went to the beach that was 5 mins away and perfect for a hot day. I will definitely return.

I loved this place! I had a wonderful time here with the animals, especially the friendly cats, and Rhinda was wonderful. It feels like the middle of nowhere but within 10 minutes to town and 5 minutes to the beach. I camped here for 3 nights by myself and was not bored for one minute. I would definitely come back again.

A fast favorite! This is a hidden gem in downstate illinois. Hostess Rhinda is incredibly welcoming + knowledgeable; her animal farm warms the soul and offers picture perfect sunsets. We picked cherries and witnessed a newborn peacock chick. Sound magical? It is! I will return, no doubt and i can not wait.

We had a wonderful one-night stay here at Rhina's farm. We were warmly greeted, and then before bed I was able to take a nice hot shower in the outdoor shower under the stars, which was so cool. In the morning she took us on a tour of the farm, and our three young boys loved it. So many beautiful animals, including some exotic ones I didn't expect. Many of the animals are able to roam freely, including chickens, baby goats, cats, and a brood of adult and baby ducks that were so cute. You'll hear a little bit of the animals at night, but that's the fun of staying on a farm. The property is fairly secluded, surrounded some beautiful farmland. Even though it was a quick stay, it was a fun experience we're always going to remember.

Rhinda greeted me on arrival and made me feel right at home. I love when a host takes all the guesswork out of where to park and set up in an unfamiliar place.
She sold me some firewood and very sweetly threw me an extra piece, which was great.
Woke up in the morning to a big group of very friendly chickens wanting to be loved on. Rhinda gave me a tour of the farm before I left in the morning, and I got to pet some cute animals. 10/10 would recommend.

We had such a great stay! The kids loved the animals and scenery was gorgeous. The roosters were a bit rambunctious (bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper) around 3am, but I loved being able to wake up, cook over the campfire, and give the goats and pigs some scratches. It was a wonderful weekend and we plan to do it again.

Rhinda is wonderful! and her farm was perfect for us! We love animals; she has so much variety and tells you all about them. My boys learned a ton from her. She allows you to spend as much time the animals as you want as long as there’s an adult with kids and everyone’s respectful. There’s a fire ring, a hammock, porch swing, picnic table, porta potty… everything you need. She sells firewood for $5/bundle if you need it. We’re definitely coming back and letting each of our kids being a friend. If you’re a light sleeper bring earplugs- the animals are up early- it’s a working farm- we loved hearing all their chatter. Couple really nice wineries nearby (Shale Lake, Family Vine and Copper Dock). We had an awesome family weekend!

I loved staying here! It was a great place to relax and recharge between destinations. I wouldn't have minded staying longer. The animals were fantastic to look at pet, and learn a little about. If you're a light sleeper then ear plugs may be needed, because they're animals and they like to talk, but they didn't bother me at all. She had a couple different options for locations to set up a tent. One was closer to the animals and the other was closer to the front of the house near the road. I opted for the spot closer to the animals. I'd definitely keep this location in mind for future trips through the area.

This was an excellent choice. Rhinda’s place is full of cool animals. Our campsite was nice and flat. There was a fire pit, swing and table with chairs. There was an enclosed outhouse, outdoor sink with running water and hot shower. Rhinda was a great host, super responsive but also gave us our space. We are planning on coming back again.
