The Aloha Ranch
If you’re looking for a peaceful and untouched place to camp, the Aloha Ranch is it! Bobby was very communicative, and went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. She helped set us up at a local fishing venue with a beautiful castle and we spent two days enjoying the weather and solitude. Our campsite also had excellent stargazing! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a private getaway.

Bobbie was a great host and very responsive. She checked on us when there was a thunderstorm and recommended a cool fishing spot near by. This would be a great hip camp if there was a porta-potty or outhouse. You do have to drive across a grass field to get to the sites, but this made it very secluded and far from the house which we appreciated. There are dogs but we did not see or hear them. The horses roam the front part of the property, but not by the campsites. This did mean that upon coming and going there are two gates that need to be opened and closed which took a little extra time.

Had a great time at this site. Bobbie was very helpful and responsive to questions we had leading up to our visit. There were also some weather concerns that popped up the day-off as we were prepping to drive out to the site. Bobbie was very communicative and transparent about everything ("weather isn't great, it could be muddy, you might not have a good time, want to reschedule?" type stuff along with some photos).
The weather ended up clearing up and was ok and we still went out (in spite of the rain) and were glad we did!
There's a lovely forest clearing with a picnic table / fire pit area that was nice and secluded (although we were the only campers on the property that night). But overall loved the place, would highly recommend and will likely come back in the future

We're the sort of Hipcampers that like to engage with the host a bit. It not essential, as we're there to camp, and we know that hosts have a range of preferences themselves. But, if a host meaningfully engages with us, in any fashion, it adds to our enjoyment. Here, Bobbie certainly shared some quality time with us, and, in particular, with our 4 year old. She happily offered to pen the horses and dogs so that we could meet and feed them. She allowed us to have the same experience with her chickens. And, she shared her very exciting future plans for the land. We had already enjoyed her camping site and its seclusion, way back on the far end of her property. And, getting to know her and her animals a bit absolutely added to the trip. Thanks, Bobbie!

The campsite was perfect for us. Lots of trails to walk and it was great having a little river running right by the land.
Bobbie was great and very welcoming. We can't wait to camp there again.

We had a great overnight stay, and enjoyed the site. It was very quiet, felt very remote, despite being easy to get to and the owner is super nice. We stopped on our way out to let my youngest feed a few carrots to the horses, which she loved. We'll definitely go back, and highly recommend this spot.

My husband and I went last minute and it was an amazing experience and mini getaway that we both needed! Very friendly and helpful through our whole visit! We loved all the animals and seclusion! There is also a wonderful fishing spot not far! We will definitely be coming back and can't wait to take our son! This place is by far one of the best and favorites through all our years of camping!

its was peaceful and relaxing we cant really do much coz we came at the wrong time it was rainning lately so the ground is kind of flooded but boobie was super nice she make sure where ok to camp on the dry place and i will come back nxt time ill make sure the ground is dry so i can see the whole place tha you so much bobbie will be back soon👍👍👍

Bobbi and her helper George were very accommodating! I booked last minute and they made it work. We just needed a place to stay, passing through for the night. They had a nice spot where I didn’t even have to unhook our rv. It’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL country there! The horses are gorgeous and the dogs are super friendly. We took home some free, fresh eggs from their chickens too!
Bobbi genuinely cares about making sure your time was well spent and that you had a good time. We did have one incident and Bobbi made sure that all was taken care of, when most would have just blown someone off.
I highly recommend to book your next camping trip here, even if it is just for a night when you’re passing through!

This place is REALLY great. It’s remote and private yet you can drive right to your camping spot.
There wasn’t a single mosquito. There also wasn’t any mud, which is interesting because it rained many inches the day before.
I’d take this over any state park in Illinois.

Loved this hipcamp and would definitely go back again sometime! George and Eric were both great. The German shepherds on the property were very friendly and it was cool to see all the horses roaming. Very secluded spot and peaceful. Thank you again!

Bobbie was a gracious and responsive host that made us feel welcome on her property. We had a great one night stay. She had plenty of firewood and her property manager was kind enough to mow a few fresh footpaths for us. This is true camping, so be sure to plan accordingly re: water and latrine requirements.

Aloha ranch was absolutely wonderful. Bobbie is a fantastic host and so welcoming. She let my son and I pet the horses, feed the chickens, collect eggs and explore the property. We gave us the choice of so many areas to set up camp, there is something for everyone. We camped far back in the field and it was lovely. I would definitely stay again!

Last-minute cancellation on our part due to child’s illness, but Bobbie was a very gracious in the lead up, sent some photos and video, very disappointed we could not make it - but seemed like a great option close to home.
