Came here on a whim & have to say Joanie provides such a lovely camping opportunity, & is above all incredibly sweet & welcoming. Would recommend if you’re looking for an easy place to crash, & chill with a beautiful white horse named Lambchop

As others have said, Joanie is a nice host. As others have also said, it's close to a busy road. More importantly, the place is fine but the description is not accurate (misleading). Pictures show a secluded spot in nature. Reality is that you're close to the road, the house and someone's trailer with no privacy at all.

We had a nice, peaceful night of camping here! It smelled AMAZING with the eucalyptus trees on the land. Very cozy, beautiful, and the little bathroom was so cute!

The host was great, but around midnight other campers arrived and put music on. We did not sleep well after because of the noise. There is no privacy. It is ok for one night and would have been great without the other campers.

Very very kind people being super mellow here and is a great place to camp to just have a place to stay. The land feels very welcoming and sacred and has cool trails to walk around and explore. A plethora of hawks in the area as well. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

We had a winery event in Lompoc and this was a perfect place to park our bus for the night. Flush toilet is a bonus (and very sweetly appointed), and even though, as some reviews mentioned, the road is close, it’s not very loud at all. Will definitely return

Joanie's land was more than a pleasure to camp at ! Considering the price and the proximity to Lompoc, this Hip Camp is an amazing deal and you should absolutely book it. The hosts were friendly and very accommodating. They were nice enough to provide electricity to charge up our e-bikes on our trip across California. With a real bathroom this place has the comforts of home but your camp stay will feel authentically rugged on beautiful land. Happy with our stay at the amazing Rancho Relaxo, and would be happy to come back (:

Staying at Joanie's land was super 'relaxo'. We cooked dinner looking at turkey vultures (or were they red tailed falcons?) flying over, enjoying the last rays of sun. Afterwards we headed into town - Joan and her fellow 'ranch mate' gave us loads of good tips of where to taste wine (PCH Street) and where to play pool (the Irish bar). Lompoc was very nice to us and it all started at Joanie's ranch!

I always enjoy my stay at Joanie's. The horses and dogs are well-behaved. I love the night sky and sometimes you can see and hear the bats fly around at night. There are beautiful oak trees and eucalyptus trees on Joanie's land. I highly recommend this little piece of heaven.

Joanie was an excellent host with great communication. The directions to the site were clear and we had no trouble. The site is quite close to a road but the vegetation keeps the noise down and we had a nice peaceful night. Close to Lompoc and very easy to get around.

I love truck camping here. It is by a busy road, but I am able to block out the sound of vehicles driving by. There is plenty of room for multiple campers and most of the ground is level. I usually park near the oak tree. The bathroom is rustic (outhouse) but again, I am not that particular. I have been staying here off and on for the last year while working in the area and I feel very safe. Safety is very important to me. Any issues at all, just talk with Joanie. She is very understanding and fair. I highly recommend this camping spot and hope you give it a chance.
