Immen Ranch
Immen Ranch was perfect. A great camp set between the trees and a field on top of a hill overlooks two different but equally as impressive views of the lake. Jed, the incredibly large but even more incredibly friendly dog who we had named Hank, joined our party and got along great with everyone including our own two much smaller dogs. My favorite bit was waking up early to being fogged in and the incredible atmosphere it created for our morning.
We're already making plans to go back.

Had a great experience here! David was very nice and helpful. The sites were nice and views were beautiful. Jed (the dog) was a great companion for our hike to the lake and back as well!

The views at this site are second to none and the hosts are great people. David was super helpful, was totally responsive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Be careful, as the entrance is a bit steep and if you don't have 4WD/AWD, it could be tough if the conditions aren't totally dry. Would definitely recommend and come back.

Camping here (at site 3) was lovely! We arrived a bit late but David was rly nice about it. He already had a fire going at our site and kindly offered to drive all our stuff to it in his ATV. Gorgeous views of Lake Berryessa and its surrounding forests. Would definitely come back!

Immen Ranch and David our host were both great. We camped on site 2 which has a lake view, a small picnic table, and an outhouse. Its a short walk to the lake but be prepared to hike uphill on your way back. Sadly, we had to leave a bit sooner then we wanted due to the fires but the time we did spend there was made more enjoyable with some of David's own bloody mary mix which I recommend.

We had a great time staying at Immen Ranch right before the devastating Napa County fires. It was the most beautiful scenery and a quick hike down to Lake Berryessa where we basically had our own private beach. David was super communicative and very helpful. We wish them the very best!

Three of us (one is 2.5 years old) stayed at site #4. What a wonderful escape, the perfect little cutout on a steep hillside with an easy hike to the lake waterfront. Dave (owner) couldn't be nicer and more accommodating. We highly recommend this unique location.

Immen Ranch was gorgeous. I was at Site #1 . It was a bit small and definitely a treck getting around. It was all well worth it. The stars were incredible and the trees against the sunset over the lake was breathtaking. On top of the scenery, the potable water and porta potty definitely made the stay easier and cleaner. Thank you David for all your help throughout the weekend!

A perfect trip. Like visiting a family owned restaurant where the owners take pride in their service and work to give you an amazing experience, the same is true for Immen Ranch. David was an excellent host who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was delightful. Our site was nestled in the hills, the exact privacy we were looking for. We took a nice hike down to the lake, where our dogs were able to freely swim and prance around. Wish we had more time, we would have like to explore more. 10/10 - thanks for having us, David.

We had a wonderful stay at Immen Ranch! We were in campsite 3, which is at the top of the hill and has a beautiful view of the surrounding valley. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises, a short but steep hike down to the lake and an overall very easy and comfortable stay. David was a great host and we will hopefully be back!

Great sites maintained meticulously by a gracious and friendly host. Berryessa can be quite hot in he summer, but the lake (10-15 min downhill hike) provides a wonderful way to cool off, relax and fish. Thanks Immen Ranch, we will be back!

We stayed at Immen Ranch one particularly hot weekend; it was 104. We were at the campsite closest to the lake, and we had a great time. It was quiet and peaceful, and we stayed as cool as we believed we could be in that heat. It was nice to have the lake so close by.. David is a wonderful and gracious host, who is very helpful.

Beautiful, private campsites. Very private compared to any other car camping site I've stayed at before. The host David was extremely responsive and helpful prior to and during the trip. We stayed in site 3 which comfortably fit two large tents and had a great surrounding view.

It's really incredible here, there are only 4 campsites on this property which make it really enjoyable. We stayed in Camp site #3 which i feel like was the best, it was really secluded and the view was amazing. We had 4 wheel drive but it appears that sites 2/4 would definitely need it. The wind has a way of picking up right before sundown and it led some of our belonging over the ledge-beware:) we retrieved them but it was a a feet-but a fun one:) The calm side of the lake is so close by by car we never ventured by foot near the campsite and there's plenty of water fronts spots to have your own area without getting to crammed in there. We had 4 dogs, all super well behaved and loved the campsite. I never got a chance to meet David but he is very responsive by texting and even sold us fresh eggs. We were pretty bummed that we couldn't have a fire but once we were up there with the heat and how dry it was, it totally made sense. If i had private land there is no way I would allow people whom i didn't know to be responsible enough to build a fire. Embers could kick off a wild fire so easily it's just not worth it. We brought some battery powered rodeo lights and strung them from the beautiful oak trees to create some nice cozy glow at night. We will definitely be coming back and requesting this camp site-it's truly breath taking. Thank you David!

Immen Ranch was lovely! The campsites are each very private and well appointed--quick hike to the lake. Appreciated the running water and very clean toilets. David is super responsive and helpful--couldn't ask for a better host. Totally recommend. The hill is a little steep to the campsite so make sure to bring a car that can handle it.

We had a lovely time camping at Site #3. David (the landowner) came to greet us as we arrived, happily answered all our questions, and told us where to go from there. Little bit of a steep drive on the hillside to the site, but definitely doable. Once we arrived to the site it felt like we had our own private hilltop above Lake Berryessa. The sweeping views of the lake were absolutely gorgeous during the golden hour. There's plenty of room for a couple of tents, a tree for hammocking, a table for making food, and a spicket. It's a bit of a hike if you want to get to the lake from the campsite, but it's possible if you really want to do it. I would definitely recommend this site for a relaxing weekend getaway.

We stayed at #2, and it was absolutely wonderful. Great location, good size, and views to kill for (not that I encourage that in any form). If you happen to run into David you'll directly realize that he is an awesome guy, but most likely you won't see him and you'll have your privacy.
When we stayed there it was the hottest day of the year so far (110 F), but there is plenty of shade making it possible to relax past sunrise. Not that you want to miss that breathtaking sunrise or even better sunset, both can be viewed from the same spot.
On the weekend you might hear the occasional boat playing music on the lake, but it disappears quickly. There are 3 other spots in the area (same listing), but you can only really see one of them if you try hard, from this location. So it feels like you have your private mountain.
This is a true gem, can't believe we managed to score a stay here, it will soon be booked up many months in advance.

David saved our day! We were almost out of gas by the time we got to the camp, and he shared some gas that he had for his boat!! We were soooo grateful!!
We had a really good experience. We stayed at site 3 and had an amazing view plus a very nice breeze.

This place is a perfect getaway. I stayed at site #3 and there was plenty of room. It did get windy at times, which is exactly why you wouldn't want to have a fire - in dry season. The lake was .7 miles from the site, and very steep getting down there but it's doable. We treked it with 3 kayaks, fishing gear, coolers, etc. Stay left when you cross the Lake Berryessa fence line for maybe 200 feet. There's a tiny beach area mainly rocks but it's the best entrance to the water. Make sure you bring blankets to lay on. It was a nice stay and I would definetly go back especially since every other campsite is booked for the summer. Thank you David!

We stayed at campsite 2 & 3 with a group of 10 friends, and both sites were great. Campsite 3 was large and had a particularly nice view. David was easy to communicate with and very kind and flexible. Would definitely stay here again. Only negative was that we didn't realize that we were planning our trip during dry season. Down side of dry season is that the hiking trails are riddled with foxtail and other very pokey plants, which made our hikes a little unpleasant.

David is a fantastic host and his property is beautiful. We stayed at Campsite 1 (you absolutely need a 4x4 to make it up that hill) and it was great. We had a nice quiet night, there's a water spigot at the site and we will absolutely be back.

My friends and I camped at Site 4 of Immen Ranch. Originally, we had booked campsite 1, but luckily site 4 was open, as campsite 1 is pretty small and looks like it is often directly in the sun. Our main difficulty was getting all of our things down to campsite 4. David was awesome and helped us take a few loads - but if you're staying at Immen Ranch, it's pretty necessary that you have a 4wd car. We were able to get our all wheel drive car down to site 4, but it was a bit scary at times! Site 4 was much more spacious with a picnic table, portable toilet, and potable water. We had plenty of space to set up two tents and our camping chairs. For some reason, the mosquitoes were out in full force and despite citronella candles and all the bug spray, we pretty much got eaten alive. During our stay, we ventured out to the lake by taking the lake trail, but if you want to actually swim, I'd recommend driving to a nicer spot - the trail we took is most likely for hiking only. David was extra helpful and responsive both before we arrived and while we were camping. Overall, if you're a seasoned camper and don't mind mosquitoes and an off-road experience, I'd recommend this site.

Immen Ranch was a great place to camp for the weekend! We loved Site 3 - there was warm sun in the morning, cool shade in the afternoon and a nice breeze in the evening. We fit our 5 tents into the site pretty comfortably and had lots of room to spread out and enjoy the sunsets. Not too far from the lake for a good swim either! David is super helpful and we hope to come back next year!

David was a friendly and helpful host. The camp sites are situated in hilly woods above the south end of Lake Berryessa. Camp sites appear to be flat spots cut into the hillside with a bulldozer, coming out from the dirt road that connects them. Host provided plenty of drinking water, picnic tables and chairs It can be a bit of a drive to get in - you're basically driving to the end of the residential road, then up a private road to the property. This is something to consider if you plan to spend your time at the lake itself, since it's about a 30 min drive to the west edge of the lake where most of the beaches and boat rentals are located. We saw a fair number of mosquitoes, I guess because it's been a wet spring - those may decline as it gets drier this summer. We were disappointed that we couldn't have a camp fire, as the sites are listed as having a fire ring and allowing fires. I understand it's due to the wildfire risk up in Napa, but the listing should probably be updated to reflect this as other camp sites in the same area were still allowing fires (likely because they were down by the lake edge.) Also, if you have a larger tent you may find the site a bit tight - our 4-man tents just barely fit. Overall, however, we had a good time and enjoyed the quiet and privacy of this camp site where you could go all day and maybe only see 1-2 other people walk by.

Immen Ranch was an amazing weekend! Each site is equipped with its own camp toilet, and spigot for water. All the sites and nice and private so it is like your own slice of paradise above Lake Berryessa! Our host Dave was awesome, greeted us at the gate, and made sure we had everything we needed. Also had fresh farm eggs eggs available! It was a great experience and would highly recommend Immen Ranch!
