MUST DO!!!!

If you are in Homer, you have to come and visit and meet the incredible hosts! One of the most gracious people we have ever met, and she is also hilarious which is just a bonus on top of the amazing views. We have never felt more at home than we did on her homestead. We learned so much and had great company all the while. Even got our hands dirty and got to walk to the beach! Stellavera provided everything we could possibly think about and then some, we could not have asked for a more perfect place to unwind.

Kilcher Homestead Cedar Man Cave

Absolutely great experience. Pleasant atmosphere, wonderful host. Our room has everything what we need, well equipped with camp and outdoor things required. Stellavera is very knowledgeable and she gave us the tour of the place. I really had good take away for life lesson from this place. We had real Homer experience

Impeccable experience!

Between Stellavera’s giving and kind soul, her beautiful land with expansive history, and the creative and inclusive camp sites she offers, the ability to stay in one of Stellavera’s sites as her guest is a gift. Stellavera herself is incredibly welcoming, ready to help and accommodate you in anyway, and just as eager to learn about her guests as her guests are her and the land. The land and sites themselves tell their own stories, feature tons of site seeing spots and adventures, and all provide beyond what is needed to be comfortable—and if anything else is needed, Stellavera is ready to provide. Highly recommend any of the spots she offers and to give yourself at least one full day (we found that two nights would’ve been better than one—though had a blast during our one night) to explore everything her land has to offer!

My family of four and I loved camping at Stellavera’s homestead. The views of the mountains over Kachemak bay are as pretty as you will see. We saw a moose cow and her two calves. The tent was comfortable and cooking over the fire was super fun.

A little slice of heaven near Homer

Come here with the intention to relax and leave with a profound appreciation of everything this land has to offer. Stellavera is the most gracious host and is incredibly creative with her vision for her space. The walk in through the hay fields is enough that you’ll want to be thoughtful about what you are carrying, but it introduces you to the gorgeous views. The Man Cave was cozy for one person, but has plenty of space on the covered deck for a tent, and level spaces around the property for additional tents if more space is needed. She has thought of everything, including rain gear, toiletries, burner for tea or coffee, snacks, books, etc. There are private spaces all over for reading, drawing, painting, yoga or meditation. The outdoor shower is hot and has an incredible view, and the Man Cave has an outdoor flush toilet. The outdoor kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies, and there are multiple fire pits where you can grill or sit by a fire (check out the volcano!!). If you are feeling adventurous, a walk down to the beach takes you through the original Kilcher homestead and orchard.

Jeep tent Camp with views!

We took our Jeep tent out to Stellavera’s property. She was so kind and helpful giving us pointers on where to eat and what to see. Very grateful for her suggestions and kindness. The property is outstanding and has the most beautiful views in Homer. Highly recommend and will be back next time I’m in the Kenai Peninsula.

The property is beautiful. Had access to the ocean and stellar mountain views. The host is passionate about sculpting her property and spaces to be unique places to enjoy the natural environment. Her outdoor shower was AMAZING! A hot shower on top of a cliff overlooking the ocean and mountains.The actual accomodations were clean, cozy, and well-equipped.

This spot was totally WILD in every way. The scenery beats out anywhere else, the accommodations are the precise perfect mix of being outside but also comfortable and the host was great with communication, intros and allowing us to experience the property on our own.

Gals Welcome!

The Man Cave on Stellavera’s property is one those well-kept Alaskan secrets that we all hope to unwittingly stumble into! The Cave is situated in its own little woodland nook with double doors opening to your own private view of Kachemak Bay. Magnetic mosquito netting blocks the bugs and there is even a little heater, should your tootsies get cold (which may happen when you are staring at the mother of Mother Nature from your own bed!) Stellavera goes above and beyond as a host, openly telling stories about growing up on the homestead and educating guests about a life attuned to nature. As a gal in the Man Cave I felt very welcome and will definitely return the next time I am in the neighborhood!
