The Somerville family bought the property in 1974, and moved four generations to it, from Srathfieldsaye.
In early years tomatoes were grown by the acre and some sheep and cattle grazing, and cropping. When Sheryl had an accident in the cattle yards, and needed shoulder surgery, the family advised it was time to cut back on animals.
