Camp Site #1
Loved camping on Racheal's land. Two sites, we stayed on site one, both sites grassy and clean. Site one shaded by big gums not good if your relying on solar for that extended stay but perfect for the weekend, is closer to water just a short walk about 3-5 min ( dependent on season ) . Site two more open better for solar bit further from water. We recommend Racheal's place and look forward to going back one day.

Rachael was very helpful and accommodating and her property has some enchanting scenery. We kayaked 2~3 kilometres up stream finding some beautiful places. As others have said the water is not insight of camp, but if it was it would be in flood. Rivers in the north have evolved to carry enormous volumes of water during the wet season. Therefore they have wide banks. This trip we timed it perfectly finding a good friendly amount of flow. The camp grounds have plenty of space to spread out and take in the views of the mountains.

Great getaway close to Townsville
We had Camp 2 and enjoyed the space and privacy. The river is close enough and the hosts have marked the path clearly to make it easier to find the water. The kyaks are a great touch. We had an encounter with 3 emu's whilst exploring further upstream. Nothing to worry about, but they seemed eager to escort us back to where we came from. Really handy spot from Townsville. Would love to see the place when the river bed is flowing. The only little knock we had, was the sound of road and rail trains from out on the highway.

Camp Site #2
First proper camping trip away with the grandchildren. Was a beautiful spot and the real camp feeling. Had a beautuful day down the creek swimming and kayaking.close to the river bank but had a little distance to walk to the water which is reasonable at this time of year. Loved seeing the emus, kangaroos, horses and more, awill defintely be coming back.
