Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
We live in a beautiful valley on 30 acres, that not many people know about. We're joined by 4 friendly dogs, 3 horses, 2 alpacas, 4 Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs. We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views and is suitable for tents and camper trailers, accessible by low-range 4WD (or AWD if the weather is dry) -this site is currently closed. Topspot which is also suitable for tents camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) and the Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the 2 hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway) Topspot and The Lookout/Highview do have coverage. Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times as we have our livestock and are surrounded by neighboring livestock, as well as the wildlife that frequently visits. Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. We ask that all fires be contained within the fire pit provided and a portable toilet is available for your use. BUSHFIRE SEASON: Wood and open fires are not permitted in the bushfire season, therefore you will not be able to use the fire pits. We have available farm fresh eggs from our lovely girls $3.00 1/2 Doz $5.00 Doz

The Laneway
Came here on a bit of a weekend escape. Such a peaceful, beautiful place. The little welcome basket (which had a few biccies for my dog) was a very sweet touch. Stayed in the Laneway and had it to ourselves. Highly recommend, especially if travelling with pets!

Topspot
Amazing site! Ticks all the boxes for seasoned or beginner campers. - Feels genuinely outdoorsy and semi-isolated - Nice, flat, weed-free spot up the top of the hill, and the porta-potti are also good for people that are a bit squeamish about a long drop or worried about snakes. -Cows are always a bonus Great place to go camping if you’re a regular camper, doesn’t feel artificial or like a caravan park. Also a great place to take a newbie if they’re a bit unsure about camping.
