Our property is a rock climbing spot and a camping area.

To get to the rock shelter you need to do a short hike in a rocky trail, mostly steep, sometimes muddy and climb an inclined (drilled into the rock and ground) 10ft ladder with no hand rails.

Includes: shared full bathroom, private tent area in rock shelter with set up, 1 parking spot and more.
The space
The uniqueness of this place is that the owners backyard’s property is a FOREST 🌳 with a natural rock climbing wall 🧗‍♂️ for NON climbers AND climbers but can also choose to stay camping. You will sleep in a natural rock shelter as your private room!. This is the way our natives used to sleep and made rituals. The zone is a famous archaeological site.

ACCESS details:
🗺 Your rock shelter name is Refugio Caney. You will have a video in your self check in instructions to make it easier for you to get there on your own. You need to bring good grip shoes for the trail and your hands should be totally free. Bathroom and parking spot are located at the entrance of our property, at about 3-4 minutes hiking from the rock shelter.

Late check out: 15$ per additional hour

Since this is also a rock climbing area please notice that few climbers (1-3) may be present or may enter to access the rock wall. However, your designated tent area is only for you and your companion, in a very secluded area.

Suggestions for a better stay/What to bring: 📝

1- We sell campfire logs at 10$ (last for 1.5 hrs). Let us know in advance to have it available for you.
2- Bring your towel / or we can provide it at no additional cost.
3- Since you need to hike for about 3-4 minutes to get there you need: boots or similar good grip shoes.
4- Check in before sunset.
4- Bring in a backpack only items you will use.

We plan on making this a beautiful getaway from it all where you can embrace the beauty of Playa Mar Chiquita and surrounding  areas.

La Piedra Camping + Pets

Stay under the sky camping with family, friends, and your pets in our unique camping site. The area includes a shower made out of bamboo from the place and gives you a spectacular opportunity to connect with nature while bathing. Gathering around the fire creates a wonderful atmosphere to tell out stories. It is a wonderful place to bring your companion pets.
Inside the Scenic Route, our place provides you with a unique experience to reconnect with nature and yourself. The climate is ideal to get cozy with your loved ones, including your pets, and get up slowly between clouds of fog. Over 500 squared meters of half fenced land will provide you a space to explore barefoot with your companion pets.

This open space also provides you with the essentials for a special evening: wine glasses, bottle openers, and coal.

Inhale fresh air far from the city and the noises. Lie down under the sky and watch the stars and fireflies during a clear night.

The camping site has a private entrance with a self check-in gate. Parking spot is located outside the property so you must be willing to walk downhill to access the area. We only use solar or batteries lights.

Outside dining table included.

Guest can explore around the premises at his/her own risk. Pets should remain on leash. Please, do not cross to the neighbors yards uninvited. Hiking jewels can be found at 20 minutes drive: Las Tetas between Cayey-Salinas, Canon San Cristobal between Aibonito-Barranquitas, and Bosque Carite, Cayey. 

Other things to note

Property is not fully fenced.

Nights can be really colds so bring your jackets.

The place uses solar lights, doesn't have electricity, so be prepared to connect with nature.

Must bring your own tent, blankets and towels. 
Guest should bring his own food. Coal available no extra cost.

Area can accommodate a few other camping tents for an extra charge.

There is a private greenhouse in the property where you can buy exotic plants.

Please note that this is a residential area. Noises should be avoided. Pick up your garbage. Parking is located outside the property. Respect private property around the camping site.
