Check in time was at 4, we had taken half days off work so we could enjoy the little bit of daylight available for that day, however the host didn't remember we had a reservation and we were not able to get in until 7 pm, wasting the time off several of us had taken. The spot is also in plain sight of and in loud hearing range of I-15. The post said there was potable water, there wasn't any that we could find anywhere.

Karen’s land was such a perfect getaway for us! It was so amazing being in the middle of the desert with not much around, but sleeping by a river! The sunsets over the mountains were gorgeous, and there was a decent amount of things to do within an hour away. We live out of our cars, so it was a great little cabin to glamp in, and if you live in a house it would be a wonderful way to get the camping experience while still having the amenities of a grill, fire pit, and stovetops. We had an amazing time just walking around and being lazy, but next time we would probably head to the lake nearby to fish or rent out some boats to play around in. 10/10 would recommend.

To start I received a message the day of my stay that my trip had to be canceled due to mice and a mess from previous people. I offered to clean up for a discount wich I did but also didn't receive a discount amd only used property to put up a tent and cleaned the cabin but never received any compensation. Overall the trip was great for what it was nice beautiful outdoors but was some bad that went with it all

Karen was incredibly kind and welcoming, and her property was about what I expected from the descriptions and reviews! The morning sunrise over the river was gorgeous and we had a very peaceful evening sitting under the stars after we first arrived.
Unfortunately, there were a lot of mice in the cabin itself. It sounds like this may have happened between guests and she was very nice about it and apologetic. It totally happens and I'm sure that she'll be able to get rid of the mice easily and then the cabin will be fantastic once more!
The portable potty situation was a bit more exposed than I anticipated, but it's nice that it's there at all! The cabin was spacious and the kitchen looked like it would be fine to cook in. We struggled a little finding it in the dark, but that was our own fault, and once I pulled up the pin on the map, I was able to find it without issue. Overall, Karen really went out of her way to make her space enjoyable and I appreciate the amount of effort she's put in!

I loved how close the river was but access was a little difficult. We just walked down a bit where it's more level. It was adorable but don't try to find it in the dark. It's very dark out there. I also don't recommend it in the dead of summer but I'd love to stay in the fall and light the wood stove. It was very cozy.

This was exactly what we were looking for!!! Be forewarned it is off the grid, it's definitely camping which is what we want but someone who doesn't enjoy the dirt. Bugs etc not for you. It was perfect tho for us! We loved floating the river , it stayed pretty shallow the entire float. Big enough space to sleep 5. I want to go back already. We plan on making this a yearly trip.

Super peaceful area right on the river. We were able to get the paddle boards and tubes out and cool off throughout the day. It was nice to have something to cook on inside for breakfast as well. We didn’t catch anything but it was nice to sit out on the bench and fish. The wood stove was nice to have inside for the rainy day where it got a little chilly. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed my stay at Karen’s cabin!! Karen is fantastic! She responded quickly to all my questions and provided easy to follow directions, including useful instructions about the cabin. My favorite part was the lake-side bench, watching the ducks and geese go by. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful views, & river.
The question is, what could be improved?? A few things I would start by updating your pictures. My family & I felt like it was misrepresented. Perhaps a bit more of a detailed description. For instance, when you say a toilet please indicate a portable potty in a one room cabin, please be specific as to what type of toilet your providing, instructions would be very helpful too. Instructions on how to dispose & not to put toilet paper in the during your stay. The bed is caving in the middle, so if your wanting an uncomfortable black hole sleeping experience, then this could be for you.
Also, a table for the "living room" in front of the futon, as pictured.
The cleanliness was disgusting. The "safety" was sub par to say the least.
I'm not sure why I was charged a cleaning fee when it clearly has not been cleaned before we paid for it. I do not even want to know if the sheets we're cleaned for us. Filthy windows, floors, cobwebs, dead wasps, dead flies in the kitchen windows, dirty/grimy kitchen workspace. The safety was kinda of a joke. Please see video. Honestly, Tent camping would have cleaner & safer for my family & I. At $50/night there are nicer options available & you know what to expect. I am disappointed in how it was represented. This was meant to be a post deployment "retreat" for my kids /parents. Tent/RV recc'd.

It was clean, with a beautiful view! But not having running water means I won't stay again. If that's not a problem for you, this place is a nice place to escape! The bed was comfy and warm!!! The host was great. I also got great phone and internet here. For what you pay, this place is a bargain!

What a gem! This cabin is great. The sleeping arrangements are excellent and the kitchen set-up is top notch and has almost all the conveniences of home. We got snow overnight and it was generally pretty chilly, but between the stove, a propane heater, and generous amounts of bedding (as well as some extras we brought for ourselves) we had an overall very comfortable experience.
The area is just gorgeous, especially with the winter weather rolling in. Secluded enough to feel like you have some peace and quiet, but not too far from anyone or anything if you needed some help in a bad situation. The roads leading to the cabin are very well maintained. We have discussed returning in the early summer to take advantage of the beautiful bend of river that the cabin backs up to, as well as nearby Yuba Lake.
Karen is a great, communicative host who provided excellent directions to the cabin as well as in-depth instructions to work the amenities she has provided. Her cabin is well stocked and obviously quite loved, and it makes for an overall excellent experience.

All righty! We had a great trip and it was so fun. I want to be really thorough in describing what this place is because we had some idea but weren't fully prepared.
The loft beds are very spacious and cozy. You could fit four adults comfortably on each one. There is some bedding provided but bringing your own can't hurt. There is also a queen bed on the bottom floor and a fold-out futon so this place really fits quite a few people. In the photo they don't show how many mattresses are in each loft, but it's a bunch. Super nice.
Bring plenty of water, as there is no water pump. Be prepared to need water to wash dishes, hands, etc.
The porta potty is really a small container the size of a cooler that is in the cabin itself, and the shower is a metal tub with a curtain. We were five adults that were not family, so it was a tad uncomfortable of a situation. We ended up mostly relying on nature to do our business. There is a shovel for doing such things properly and it is private around the cabin so sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.
The kitchen is equipped with camp stoves that run on fuel. Worked pretty well. We cooked and fixed coffee and all that.
Bring plenty of ice in your coolers. Scipio isn't terribly far when supplies are needed. Bug spray is a must!
The place is idyllic, peaceful, secluded, and cozy. We swam in the inlet and had lovely times by the fire. All in all, I would absolutely return, particularly knowing precisely what to prepare for.

Our host Karen was very nice and helpful. My husband and I had set up a small tent outside, while the children slept in the cabin. The cabin was equipped with many essentials. I definitely liked the space I had in the kitchen area to prepare our meals. Enjoying a hot cup of tea while awaiting for the sun to rise over the mountains was the perfect way to start our day. Being along the river brought much peace and was very relaxing.

Great spot with access to the river right from the cabin door. Fishing and swimming possible on the river. Yuba lake is <10 min away. Cabin offers everything you need for a simplified camping trip.
Sleeping spots for multiple people, small kitchen, fire and grill for cooking.

We had a great time! Make sure to explore Yuba Lake. You can take lots of back dirt roads and find a private lake cove. We spent most of the day at the Yuba lake. We enjoyed the cabin in the evening when it cooled down. If visiting in summer make sure to prepare for heat and remember this is a dry county so bring your beer the closest county to purchase beer is about 40 min away LOL🤣🤣

This was just amazing for us! Definitely already planning our next trip. Just what the description states. Bonus is complete isolation right on the river. We stayed 2 nights. Spent time on the river and time at Yuba.

What a dream! Such a perfect getaway that’s incredibly accessible and so serene. So glad Karen is sharing this spot with the Hipcamp community - highly recommend. Karen is so kind, so considerate, and is a fantastic communicator.
Everything was so clean and setup for our arrival and the fire pit is so rad! Loved the views, the thunderstorms rolling through, and the quaint cabin experience - exactly what I was looking for!
I’ll definitely be venturing back down here - highly recommend!!!

Great cabin, it has all the amenities you need- we found the wood burning stove kept us super warm the first night of our stay when it unexpectedly stormed and got really cold. I had little kids with me in our stay and we had a great time

Cabin was great river was nice and could see large fish swimming almost all day. Few cabins opposite the cabin that were occupied with some friendly ppl. Only down side was the indoor shower had been broken for a long time but we were not made aware till 2 days before and pop up tent supplied in it place does not work for showering in.

The cabin had everything you would need! There's a couple of futons on the main level and a few beds on the lofts.
The kitchen comes with water for washing dishes, propane burners, and cooking essentials. We brought our own plates and cups which didn't seem to be provided.
The property is nearby one other cabin but that was empty for our trip making for the perfect outdoors space. Our only complaint is seeing and hearing the interstate, but otherwise a completely perfect spot!! Great value

Awesome little place! More features than expected and well set up. Karen was also great to respond when we had any hiccups with equipment. She also had good recommendations for places to explore near by! Beautiful scenery and we saw Jack rabbits, deer, and birds. We could also hear coyotes at night and bats. The stars at night were beautiful! We hope to stay here again sometime!

This cabin was the perfect little getaway for my solo kayaking trip! Getting to the water was fairly easy and the river was small and charming. The surrounding nature was peaceful and relaxing, and the cabin fulfilled all my needs. The solar power boxes were particularly useful. If I had any notes, it would be that there seemed to be a lot of bugs even for camping standards and that the bathroom situation would not be ideal for large groups or families. That said, I had a wonderful time and Karen was a great host! I will likely stay here again in the future.

It is off grid camping so with that in mind it's hot in the summer and a lot of flies there was a few spiders but again it's off the grid camping the Host had a lot of amenitys to cook clean it a good place for someone if you don't want to do anything but fish and swat flies
