Description

All hands on deck, the Shipley Bay Cabin Site Lookout is accessible via float plane or a one hour boat ride from El Capitan dock. Once you’re here you’ll have the natural wonders of the world all available for you to explore, as the terrain varies between interesting and unique landscapes. Mount Francis, a picturesque 2,592-foot limestone peak, is visible from cabin, and the cabin itself sits upon a low bluff with a large rocky beach in front and a large grassy tidal flat in back where Shipley Creek meets ocean. You can hike a rustic .8 mile trail through the forest to the lake, or stay on the covered porch, you can spot bald eagles, shore birds, sea lions and whales from your very doorstep!
