This corner of the Scottish Highlands is surrounded by dramatic scenery and is a spectacular setting for adventure sports, from canoeing and kayaking to white water rafting. Visitors can also walk or bike around the 80-mile (129-kilometre) Loch Ness 360 Trail, which loops the entire circumference of the long, narrow lake. The loch is also surrounded by historic sites of interest, including Urquhart Castle perched on its shore and the haunting Culloden Battlefield just outside Inverness.
