Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

Located 1km outside Branxholm, upstream of the Ringarooma River is a 36-acre private business estate where you'll find your Hipcamp on a small, private, stretch of river frontage. This camp provides a scenic, quiet camp away from the chaotic crowd of a caravan park. Fires are permitted, firewood is provided free of charge. Kayaks are provided on request. Please be fully self-contained as there are no toilets or facilities. We ask that you don't wander around the property unless discussed with the owner. This camp is still a work in progress as reflected by the price, please offer constructive criticism and suggestions. Please contact me if you'd like to book additional vehicles.Dragon River Camp is fully private, if you book, you'll have the place to yourself. The campground is a flat, grassy space shaded by myrtle and wattle trees directly on the river frontage. The river is perfect for cooling off on a hot day, or catching that Instagram-worthy fish, also keep your eyes peeled for the common platypus occurrence. Alongside the campsite is a short bush trail to the river "spa" area, perfect for swimming and fishing. A firepot and firewood is provided, and kayaks can be provided on demand. Generators allowed 9am-8pm, please discuss with the owner for any extension outside these hours. This site has no amenities so please be fully self-contained.

Dragon River Campground

The land was absolutely perfect. So quiet and right beside the river. Firewood and space were in abundance. Both the dogs and us had a brilliant time. The owners were extremely welcoming Thanks again for your hospitality.

Wonderful Campsite

Dragon River Campground is a lovely spot right on the river. It is booked for your group only which makes it really special. There is room to choose where you place your camp. This is a terrific spot to base yourself as it is central to a huge number of North Eastern Tasmanian tourist sites. We really enjoyed our three nights at Dragon River Campground. Thank you James for sharing this site with us.

Nice hidden gem

We stayed 3 nights over Easter. We had 5 caravans there with room to spare. Its a 5km drive or a 10km mth ride to derby from the campground vote the branxholm derby link . Very nice camp ground right on the river. Would be perfect for a dip on a warm day! Host James was helpfull and friendly, we will stay again! Thanks
