Camping at the farm was a truly cozy and welcoming experience. The site was easy to locate and simple to pull into, making arrival a breeze. Conveniently situated near the bathrooms and showers—which were impressively clean and well-maintained. The animals were very friendly, adding to the peaceful surroundings. We enjoyed the hiking trails, which were clearly marked and offered a great way to explore the property. The hosts were inviting. We'd be thrilled to return for another stay.

We were just passing through on a road trip so we weren’t able to stay for long, but we wish we could have stayed longer! The prairie was so pretty, the animals were fun, and Stella was such a sweetheart!

Our site was as advertised, totally private with an outhouse. There is a proper toilet, potable water, and shower at the front of the farm, but it is a far walk. You can't really move your gear to the field site on your own unless you are backpacking. I tried to wagon some of my things, but gave up half way. Thankfully. Monica offered to ferry us back and forth on her ATV with our gear. Make sure to wear tick spray, you are camping near a beautiful tall grassy meadow.

Great set up for a night stay close to St Louis. Instructions were clear and the host was very accommodating when getting settled in. Dog and the animals made great host as well.

The farm was beautiful and quiet. My daughter really enjoyed the farm animals, especially Stella (dog) and we hiked both evenings to the prairie. Clean, well maintained, and easy to get to.

Very cute farm. The alpacas were nice. They were the reason I chose this little farm. The goats and chickens were both eager to come to the fence when I walked up, they all wanted me to pet them. Clean bathroom and shower room. Very well lit. Thanks for the experience.

We absolutely loved this little place. They were so kind and accommodating for us. I got there later than expected and stayed one night, and I wasn’t sure where I needed to be, and they came out to guide me. It’s super easy to find the site but count on me to complicate anything. There dog was super friendly and they had 6 baby goats we fell in love with. We want to go back just to camp and spend time with all their animals. What a great little gem you have! Thanks for letting us stay on your land!

A hidden gem (Emerald to be exact 😆), in southern Illinois.
We had THE BEST time at emerald acres! Goats, baby goats, petunia the pig, Llamas and did I mention baby goats? The property is absolutely stunning, great walking paths, breath taking sunrises and sunsets. It truly felt like home.
Amenities were clean and well cared for. Shower was hot and great pressure. Highly recommend stopping here. Monica stopped by to introduce herself and is super sweet!
Last but not least you’ll have your very own guard dog named Stella. She loves to come and chill with you by the campfire. She’s also a great host as she leads you through the trials.

We had a great time camping here :) Monica was a great host but I have to give a shout out to the star of the show Stella. She was the dog that served as our guide, protector, and friend. The bit of a hike to the campsite was a pleasure each time with such a good buddy(Stella) next to us in stride.
The land itself was beautiful. There was plenty of privacy and being around so many animals was awesome. The refreshing showers available made the heat we were dealing with bearable. We stayed at the end of July so that was to be expected :) don't hesitate to book this one folks!

Making reservation was super easy. Site was just as described. Everything was great until 1 AM when homeowners dog continued to bark until 4 AM. Not sure how they did not hear the dog running up and down the property barking all night? The dog is super sweet and friendly but obviously super protective of the property.

Loved the site! Close to everything but still felt like a getaway. Stella the dog was a great tour guide and camp visitor. Loved seeing the farm life and taking a little stroll through the woods. We'll be back!

What a wonderful trip! We were greeted by the most knowledgeable and attentive hostesses, Stella. She walked us through a beautiful woodland trail covered in native plants such as, my favorite, jack-in-the-pulpit. The prairie clearing was picturesque, I can only imagine the beauty once the flowers bloom! The birding opportunities there were also great —we even found a Northern Parula. I remember saying many times to my travel companion, “I feel so relaxed.” 10/10 would stay again.

This is such a wonderful place! Stella, the best dog in the world, greeted us and led us right through the woods to a lovely campsite in a clearing. It’s a bit of a hike, but Monica offered us a vehicle to carry our stuff in. We were actually only booked for one night but decided almost instantly upon arrival to expand that to two and have no regrets. It is a gorgeous place, full of bird and frogs call. The stars are incredibly clear at night and we had a great campfire both nights we stayed. It’s very private and there space for 3-4 tents if needed. I would suggest bringing your cold weather sleeping bags in the spring as it got quite chilly at night but is a very sunny spot in the daytime, so in the summer you might want to bring some shade. Stella was a wonderful host and visited us often. Monica, the kind owner, was fantastic and provided us delicious eggs and firewood (small extra fee which was well worth it). You can shower and get water by the house. The goats, llamas, sheep and chickens were so cute and also loved a good pet. The town itself has a small grocery and gas is not far. I cannot recommend this place higher; we would love to come back!

We loved every second of our stay at the Prairiegrass Fields site! Monica and Jim were super friendly and helpful, they left us alone but were quick to respond if we needed anything. It’s a couple minutes walk to the site and they helped us transport all of our stuff to and from the site in their side by side, so we didn’t have to make multiple trips carrying everything. All the animals were so friendly and fun, the baby goats were ADORABLE! But their dog Stella was the highlight of our stay. She was so sweet and hung out with us pretty much the whole time we were there. She walked with us, sat by the fire with us, even laid down and snuggled with us. Perfect spot if you want a more private camping experience than your typical campground without going too far from civilization.

Spent one night here on our way to New Orleans and it was the perfect place to rest and refuel. Stella (the dog) and the big sheep greeted us enthusiastically even though we got in late, and sent us off early the next morning. Lovely property and the amenities were top notch! We’ll definitely come again.

I’d totally recommend this place for families of all ages. It’s close to Edwardsville which was great for an event we went to. Our 25’ Airstream fit nicely and they provided water and electric hookups. Stella is such a friendly dog and guided us on our hikes around the property. The hobby farm was a big hit with our family. We loved meeting all the animals, especially the two-week-old triplet baby goats.

Lovely place to camp! Beautiful views and hiking trails, and it was so much fun meeting the goats, llamas, and of course Stella the dog. The hosts are very friendly and the site is clean and convenient to get to.
