The Cabin in the Meadow
Slice of Heaven
We just had the most wonderful family reunion at this little slice of heaven. Shannon and Doug could not have been more gracious and welcoming hosts. We had a large group and booked the cabin with five camp sites for our reunion. It was perfect! It felt very secluded, was beautiful next to the creek surrounded by aspens. My family all said we should come back and make this our destination for future gatherings. It’s close to many fun outings and adventurous activities. The cabin was exactly what we needed for my mom who was recovering from a surgery. It was very easy to get to and although it felt secluded with nature surrounding us, it is quite close to town with access to services. It was fun to have the sound of the creek nearby with birds, deer and turkeys around. I highly recommend this spot! Doug and Shannon are fabulous hosts!

Quiet in the Quakies
Could not recommend more!
We love love LOVED staying at Quiet at the Quakies!! Our site was perched atop a hill with amazing views, between two beds of lavender. The sound of the creek was lovely and we got to see a couple bats come out at dusk. Firewood and toilet paper were a-plenty and the soapmaking was super fun and educational. Doug and Shannon were more than accommodating and wonderful to work with. We are looking forward to returning with friends and family, sooner rather than later!

Very nice quiet campsite next to a stream. Plenty of room and easy to find. I’ll definitely stay there again if I pass through.

Quiet in the Quakies
Stayed at site 4, close to the stream running by the property. Beautiful location and quiet. Driving to and from 93 to get there, we saw a faun and her mother, turkeys, and red-headed woodpeckers. The fire ring and free firewood made cooking and the evenings very pleasant. At night, the milky way was clear. Plenty of room to park our Santa Fe, and set up a large tent and chairs. The porta-potty nearby was very convenient. Some of the other campers at the site wished to keep to themselves and others were friendly. Would definitely stay again!

Quiet in the Quakies
A wonderful hipcamp experience. The setting was peaceful and quiet. Tons of firewood. We went on July 4th weekend so all the sites were taken but we had no problems at all with privacy. The portapotty was the cleanest I've ever seen. The sound of the creek was wonderful. Communication with Shannon was excellent. Please know you need to bring your own water in or get it from the creek. We would definitely come back again!

The Cabin in the Meadow
We had a great time at Doug & Shannon's cabin! Shannon was super helpful and communicative and let us shower up at her main house. It was pretty cold when we went but the little heater and wood burning range helped :) Such a beautiful area with a ski resort and hot springs near by.

Car camping
Doug and Shannon’s lands were amazing and we would definitely car camp here again. We slept right next to a creek and in the morning we spotted wild animals like turkeys and deers. We got in pretty late but Shannon made sure we arrived safely and even greeted us with oranges in the morning. Everything was great. 10/10 recommendation.

The Cabin in the Meadow
A cozy winter glamping retreat!
We loved staying in the cabin on Doug and Shannon’s beautiful property. We stayed warm and cozy with the wood fired cook stove. The fact that my husband likes chopping firewood and that I liked cooking on the wood cook stove made it extra fun for us. Shannon was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. We enjoyed seeing the winter wildlife including bald eagles, deer, and wild turkeys.
The cabin looked so picturesque in the snow, I only wish we’d had more of it!

Quiet in the Quakies
The camp site was in a quiet, remote area and well laid out with a small creek on one boundary. The sites are mostly level and well spaced. I stayed in a 20' long trailer and wouldn't recommend anything larger as the entry was a little narrow. I had to check out early due to mechanical problems. Salmon is a cool, little town just down the road.

Two thumbs up
A beautiful meadow nestled down by the creek. Offers ample seating around each campfire. And my favorite, a swinging bench that faces the sun lit creek. They also have a two top burner and pots available for camp cooking.
Very responsive hosts.
Good hiking in the area.
10/10 highly recommend.

The Cabin in the Meadow
Great stay on the creek
The cabin is situated right on the creek. I got water for coffee and breakfast one day, was perfect access. Shannon was very kind and communicative. There are quite a few camps next to the cabin, there was another hipcamper there the night before I left that I had a friendly chat with in the morning. Was a really nice experience, I didnt have to ask for anything. There was water in the cabin as well as silver/dishware, matches, games and such. Was the perfect weekend getaway for me!

Quiet in the Quakies
This place a truly a gem! My only regret is that we could only stay one night. My friend and I stayed with our roof top tents and the setup was perfect for that. There are plenty of firepits and it was so relaxing to fall sleep next to the stream. The outdoor cooking equipment was great for cooking and for cleanup. The hosts were so nice and accommodating. They shared some plums and pears from their neighbor’s recent harvest and we used the shower in the house, where they even provided some small toiletries and towels. I can’t say enough great things about this spot!

Lovely stay in a gorgeous area!
We arrived damp and bedraggled from an overnight with such heavy rains that drowned our supposedly waterproof tent. We were able to stay in the cabin for a night had the Quakies to ourselves to get everything dried out again and even enjoy a hot shower! Shannon and Doug were lovely hosts. The creek is wonderful to listen to when falling asleep. Also highly recommend the Goldburg hot Springs hike near Elk Bend. It’s a beautiful area.

Enjoyable- had fun with soap making
Lovely stream through the property, and Shannon was very helpful making sure everything was smooth. I also enjoyed taking the soap making class option- she even had a few of the initial steps sped up so I could hit the road on time the next morning!
The Cabin in the Meadow
Beautiful little cabin located in an ideal setting. The listing said for up to four people but there is only a pull out sofa. So I’d say it’s more accurate for 2 people. The cabin is equipped with many items which make it very useful for travelers. The meadows is also shared with a number of other Hipcamp sites so you won’t be alone. We luckily didn’t have any other guests.
We attempted to do the soap making class which would have been fun but there was a miss communication on when we should come and timing got to late. We felt bad but we hadn’t heard back from them by 8pm and figured it was to late for our little kids at that point. We did however pick up some fun goodies from her little shop including soap, jams and mustard all made by them.
