Damson Field Rustic Camping is a small and peaceful pop-up site set in a 10-acre field in East Sussex countryside, overlooking Bodiam Castle and near the village of Ewhurst Green. The vibe here is very much all about nature, so you can camp among fruit trees and relish the wildlife and seclusion.
If you take a stroll around the ancient orchard at sunset, you might be lucky enough to spot badgers, deer and pheasants, and after dark you can watch the stars glittering in the night sky. There are a handful of traditional pubs in Bodiam village (20 minutes’ walk, no need to take the car) if you feel like upping the pace.
As this is wild camping, there is no electricity but separate portable toilets and a standpipe with fresh water are available. Showers are available for an extra charge. Kindling and firelighters are provided for a small charge, and you can borrow firepits on site.
A few site rules: no ball games outside the designated play area, please, and noise is to be kept to an absolute minimum between 11pm and 8am to allow all guests to get a well-earned night’s sleep. The owners ask that you take all your rubbish home with you too.Our Oak tree pitch is a featured spot that sits at the top of our camping field, with views across the valley towards Bodiam Castle in the distance. This is a generously sized pitch with a wooden bench and table area nestled beneath the shade of the oak tree and benefits from the early morning sun. This is a popular spot and early booking is advised.
There are two more pitches adjacent to the oak tree pitch that have the same views. These pitches are close to the entrance/exit gates of the field and also the toilet and water facilities
