Weekend Trip to Pytingwyn Woods

Great peaceful campsite. We had loads of fun cooking on open fires and our dogs and infant loved it. A really wholesome relaxing weekend with my family. I recommend the four falls trail for any hikers (30 mins drive from site) for some beautiful views. George the horse was a lovely highlight too!

Great little spot by the canal. Facilities are quite basic but the swans and goslings more than made up for it.

Great welcome from Andy. The site is very peaceful with good kayaking. Facilities are a bit basic but adequate. The kitchen area is well equipped with gas stove, drinks and condiments to help with cooking. Fire pits and wood readily available. Only comments other than that would be that the signage could be improved and branches over the entrance road should be cut back. Overall a very nice stay here.

Absolutely loved camping on Roxanne’s land! The host was extremely friendly, the facilities were fantastic and the views were incredible. We camped in a group of 8 adults and it was a more than reasonable price to pitch up 4 tents. Would definitely go back and would absolutely recommend!

Lovely site. Great compost loo. Babbling brook running at the bottom of the site. Beautiful horse in neighbouring field. Very tranquil. And only a 5 minute drive to Brecon if you’re in need of a coffee or some provisions.

What a lovely delight to find such a peaceful and beautiful camping pitch . We camped right by the river and fell asleep to the wondering sounds of the stream . George the horse was a lovely surprise for the little one and will definitely be returning ! The host is also lovely and very helpful . Overall this is a 10/10 for a wild camping experience and would highly recommend.

Fantastic site. Clean and well kept. Great views. We saw a lot of the owners who checked in on everyone. Really friendly. Beautifully positioned with lovely walks. Cute food and drink wagon was lovely and well priced. Showers and all facilities you could want. Definitely be back!

Lovely clean, spacious camping site, Friendly hosts and in a great location. River Trent next door, lovely walk along the canal & lovely garden centre opposite. In fact we liked it so much we stayed an extra night 😊

7 nights at The Slips

Hook up and running water was great. We managed ok because we had trailer tent with hot water.. One toilet was ok as we were the only ones on site! Beautiful and peaceful.. birds singing and close to The Railway pub and little village. Walks too were good! a great getaway. We did a week so yes would recommend it.

What a gorgeous site - at one side a babbling brook, that you can hear as you fall asleep, to pairs of Red Kites and Buzzards wheeling overhead - and flocks of Goldfinches hopping about the grasses in the meadow and field. The weather was very good and I fell asleep watching bats and the moon rise, with the van door open all night. There's already stone fire pits, a compostable loo, and a lovely area where you can pitch up and enjoy the woods and the area, in peace and quiet. David is the owner and is lovely, so very helpful, which I appreciated loads. I can see why this little slice of heaven has been nominated for awards - and I'd suggest that people come and visit to try it out for themselves.

Weekend Trip to Stowford Manor Farm Campsite

Fantastic location on river frome so can cold water swim, or paddle boarding (short part only). Stowfords is so well laid out...reception is easy and super friendly. Pizza van is perfect (fri/sat 5.30-8pm) lovely pizza. Camping site well laid out.. Big pitches along river, very quiet, lovely group of kids playing all over fields...toilets and hot showers, clean and well maintained...local attractions include public paths along river to Iford or check out Farleigh Hungerford castle with awesome audio tour. On Stowford Farm, there are arts, pottery, glass making studios which had open studio days so interesting to see. Night time is just chilled, with firepits/bbqs lit up and soft chatter amongst happy campers. Definitely be back soon.

We had a fantastic time camping here, beautiful scenery, and clean facilities. Even when it was busy at the weekend there was still plenty of space for all without feeling overcrowded or having to queue for the loos. Would definitely come back.

Good facilities and a lovely lady running the site. Busy at weekend but quiter in the week. Very well organised and farm animals lovely. Shop was an added bonus.

This campsite is kept really well and it’s clear that it’s been treated as a business by the owners, facilities are very clean and great shower/toilet block. There’s a great walk by the river/woods close by. We really enjoyed the stay.. would recommend!

Views and location was amazing, we had such a lovely time just enjoy the scenery and the peace and quiet. Camp site has everything you need. Just gutted we had only booked the 3 nights, which we would of booked longer. Thank you!
