Cool spot and the hosts were super nice! If you drive up the street there's a really nice view of the whole area

We thoroughly enjoyed staying on Ellen's property! The drive in was fun and offered a lot of beautiful scenery. The entire property is beautiful and each part of it is used very intentionally. The area allotted to us for our camp was a decent size and included quite a few amenities (a fire pit, water, electrical hookup, outhouse, etc.) The outhouse was a respectable distance away from the campsite; private enough without being an inconvenience to walk to.
All of her animals appear to be well-loved and healthy, they were all comfortable around new people and very social. She showed us around her garden and her barn, which we really appreciated.
We had booked a couple of extras with our stay (the foraging walk and rabbit butchering); we were told that the host is unable to see any extras the campers pick until after they confirm the stay and that they were unavailable at the time (due to the time of year we stayed and her husband's work schedule) but she offered us either a refund or some great alternatives. This in no way changed our opinion of Ellen and her property, it's just something to keep in mind when booking any Hipcamp stay.
Ellen and her family have created a wonderful homestead for themselves and are so kind to share it with others. She briefly mentioned her future plans for new and improved accommodations, we'll certainly be back to check out their progress.

A beautiful setting, virtually off the grid. Download Ellen’s map before you set out and don’t forget your bug spray. Sheep, geese and chickens roam the property. Unfortunately we had thunderstorms and wet firewood, so played cards in our RV. Ellen’s breakfast was delicious, made from homegrown and local ingredients. Ask for the homemade yogurt with blueberries. We also bought eggs for tomorrow!

The foraging hike is worth the stay by itself. Ellen is very welcoming and happy to share local knowledge. Bathroom is in the house only, but that seemed to work ok. You will want bug spray, for sure.

Ellen and Jason (and their sweet dog!) were very welcoming and friendly. Since it was going to be cold the night we stayed, they offered us their renovated train car. Very fun, unique place to stay!

This was a serviceable spot for a night spent in transit. The location is very remote, but Ellen and Jason were more than accommodating and friendly. The site was pretty dry and they made sure it felt welcoming despite chilly temperatures. They hooked up water and electricity for us and helped us figure out the best spot to set up our tent. I’m not sure I’d stay here to stay in the area, but as we were on our way to Quebec it was a perfectly fine spot for the evening.

What a beautiful place with a lovely family! If you stay there, don’t make the same mistake as me, stay only one night…It is very easy to get there and if you want more interesting activities, just go and talk with them NOW！

Entered Canada by land from the US and had to Quarantine for 14 days. It was a very unusual situation not being able to interact directly with our hosts Ellen and Jason. However in spite of the situation we couldn't have had a better place to stay. Both our hosts where extremely helpful by running a couple of grocery runs for us and even made a special trip in town to drop off our Covid tests. Fresh eggs, fresh herbs from the garden and a home grown rabbit made our stay much more enjoyable.
We travel in a 40ft RV + a toad and had plenty of room.
Thank You Ellen and Jason for a great experience.
