This was our second stay at Terri’s property, and it was every bit as magical as the first. The land is rugged, expansive, and wonderfully secluded—perfect for anyone who wants to wander for miles without seeing another soul. The views across the valley are breathtaking, and the old homestead adds a sense of history that’s captivating to explore.
We appreciated the freedom to let our dogs roam off-leash, and they loved every minute of it. At night, the sky opens up completely—no light pollution, just endless stars and silence. It’s the kind of place where you feel small in the best way.
Terri is a fantastic host—warm, responsive, and thoughtful. She even left us hot drinks to enjoy on the crisp fall evenings, which was such a kind touch.
If you’re looking for privacy, open space, and a true high-desert escape, this site is something special. We can’t wait to return again.

Serenity- a great place to unwind

We enjoyed our stay at Terri's property very much. it is a perfect place to unwind and reflect at the end of a busy year. We came with our two elementary school-aged children with no iPad (how radical!). As a family, we talked about the year behind us and the year ahead , played games (board games and ball throwing), read/listened to books, and drew. We felt closer as a family and were amazed at how children found creative ways to entertain themselves without electronics. Our two active dogs also immensely enjoyed the open area, running free and playing frisbee and balls.
We look forward to returning for future visits.

This is a terrific property. Terri has a great setup prepared including a table and chairs. but if you want even more seclusion, its an enormous property. You can find the perfect spot.

We enjoyed 3 wonderful days and nights on Terri’s Land. Spring flowers were blooming and green grasses added to the beautiful views as we hiked and biked the miles of dirt road trails exploring the large property. Our fetching-obsessed Goldendoodle thought the runway landing strip was perfectly designed for Chuck-it sessions and gave it 4-paws up! It was interesting see the remains of the old homestead and imagine what life was like for earlier settlers. We took one excursion to Los Padres National Forest but could have stayed the entire time on Terri’s beautiful property. Terri was a kind and helpful host, and was especially accommodating with options for where to park our RV. Both AT&T and Verizon cell signals were strong so no problems staying in touch. Highly recommended!

If you crave some peace and quiet, this is the place for you. I really needed some uncomplicated, quiet relaxation time and this site was perfect for me. Beautiful views, plenty of room to roam, and secure. Terri and her sheep were wonderful hosts.

This was a great place to stay. Terri meet us at the gate to her property and showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed. The views from the site were amazing, all the rain this winter had produced lush green country side with lots of wild flowers. Site was very quiet and peaceful, we heard coyotes howling overnight.
Terri also encouraged my family to feed / pet / visit with her sheep and horse.

A gem in the golden hills of Cuyama

We loved camping on Terri’s land. She was a gracious and thoughtful host. We arrived to a beautiful sight ready with a fire pit, firewood, hot coco, cider and granola bars. Terri made sure to give us a map and tour of the HUGE property. She checked in via text to see if we needed anything and shared the history of the beautiful land and buildings.
The property made for a wonderful camping experience. It was fun camping on the private airstrip and exploring miles of hiking trails in the golden hills of Cuyama. There was even a picnic table at the top to rest and enjoy the sites. Our dogs loved getting to explore the property off leash. In addition to great hiking there was an old homestead dating back to the 1800’s that was a blast to walk through. Chip, the old horse at the homestead, greeted us allowed us to give him some gentle pets.
If you are looking for beauty and seclusion in a unique place while still enjoying great cell reception and safety - Terri’s property is the perfect place to visit! We can’t wait to return again soon.

Absolutely gorgeous scenic views! Peace and tranquility with lots of room to explore. This is really a very cool property with a true a genuine feel to it. Not to far from food and groceries. Highly recommend!

Terri was incredibly gracious, helpful, and accomadating. The views from the campsite are beautiful and the entire plot of land is truly amazing. We had a great experience staying here and hope to return!

Terri was very nice and welcoming! She offered a few different camp locations to choose from that had chairs and fire a fire pit set up. The property was quite large and fun to explore without having anyone else around if you are looking to do that. Not much danger from any wildlife either which is nice when you are camping without other people around. Her horse Chip was very friendly, too, and isn’t shy and will come right up to you to say hi if he spots you. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere to camp that has a view and no one around to bother you!

Thank you so much for letting us use the land for three wonderful days. My puppies slept for two days straight when we got home because they had the freedom to run, hiked and chase balls till their heart’s content! Lovely open space, very quiet, and very safe!

Fantastic experience. The spot is in a remote spot of California, but a great base camp for hikes in the mountains south and west. Terri is a gracious host, providing clear directions and a great orientation to the property. It’s on an exposed hill, so if the wind is blowing, you’ll hear and feel it, as we did!
There are no facilities, so you’ll need to be self contained. If coyotes creep you out, you’ll hear them at night and they will sound close, however, there was no evidence that they were ever near our spot and nothing was disturbed. Must have been the wind carrying their howls.

This was our second stay in a month. Terri, the host, is very welcoming and warm. The site is set up with a picnic table and bench, an umbrella, two chairs, two bottles of water, and some treats. The view is spectacular and the property is so peaceful.

If you want solitude and nothing around you but peace and quiet, this is the place for you! The only thing to disturb your relaxation are some coyotes and a super friendly horse named Chip!
Terri was a wonderful camp host and provided an amazing experience (complete with a little welcome bucket of hot cocoa, apple cider, water and granola bars)

Terri is a lovely person and gracious host. She had a picnic table, 2 chairs, a sun umbrella, and fire extinguisher at the camp site. She also included 2 bottles of water and 2 granola bars for us. The property is beautiful. We could hear coyotes in the distance each night. We hiked along the dirt roads on the property. There are no facilities such as toilets or water. You must be fully self-sufficient/contained. Pack it in/pack it out. Be prepared for all weather if you go in the winter. We had a gorgeous sunset, a crazy wind and rain storm, fog, and a smattering of snow. We loved it. We are already planning our next trip there.
