Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Our Underground Camping is the first and oldest in the world. The temperature remains constant all year 'round. No matter what the temperature outside, underground remains close to 24 degrees. Summer or Winter, this is a unique and once in a lifetime opportunity. We also offer shaded powered and unshaded unpowered sites for campers and caravans, above ground. Being a few kilometers out of town not only assures a safe place to stay but, with no light pollution, you get a magnificent view of the stars! We have a nightly mine tour, as long as we get a minimum of 5 adults. Anyone purchasing a mine tour gets their unpowered camping for free! Other discounts apply to powered sites as well as our underground rooms. Yes! Along with our underground camping we maintain 5 underground rooms for travelers who just want to crash in bed and avoid setting up a camp. With well established trees we attract a lot of local bird life so popular with 'twitchers'. If reptiles are more your groove then we encourage and hand feed our bearded dragons. We're sure you will love your stay at Riba's.
